Every thing we have had on park this year was dreadful for example...
I have been to burger kitchen and ate a lukewarm, dry burger (I went there 3-4 times last year and enjoyed every time)
my mom went to the hotdog place on Tower Street which had a queue of like 5-6 people, after half an hour she finally got served a cold hotdog that she said tasted like the ones what you get in a jar from Tesco.
Just yesterday we went to fried chicken co and it was some of the worst theme park food I have had to date, it was cold, dry and the batter was way too thick and hard.(it was so bad that it put me off KFC when I got home)

Plus all the permanently closed food stalls (now I think about it, I don't remember a single food outlet being open in dark forest but I wasn't paying attention so it might have just been most of them)

Did you take it back to them and ask for a fresh one?

Alton Towers have posted this video to youtube explaining why rides stop.

Hopefully this should make the GP realise that a ride stoppage is safe and not dangerous like the media make it out to be!

This video annoys me because it features Tidal Wave, which is fine, but it just feels so out of place and weird being in the video. But its nice to see Merlin explaining things.

This is exactly what I was thinking while watching it, I was also very happy they did it using such a high quality video and used the newspaper headlines we've been seeing and called them ridiculous

Seems like my idea that it will make the GP think it is safer was a little wrong :lol. I was reading through some comments on the Facebook video last night, and some people got the wrong end of the stick and thought Alton were actually highlighting why their rides aren't safe... huh.

Sometimes I think EVERY single comment on the internet is a troll post...

I always start with that assumption and it's up to the poster to show me otherwise.

Looks like Towers's website has had an upgrade recently. Unless I'm imagining it, the banner across the top looks quite a bit smarter since the last time I checked.

It has changed slightly. When you hover over the top bar it has a slicker look

I'm finding it works better on mobile now as well.

The top bar has been altered, the bar no longer follows the scroll bar and there is now opening times below the bar.

Here's another new video from Alton Towers' website. Same format as the one released the other day but with different information. This one is titled: 'Help keep the fun times rolling'

EDIT: And I've just found another one. This time about ride restrictions and assisted exits. Here it is.

AT have today closed the Congo River Rapids as a precaution until more is known about the accident at Drayton.

A few changes around CRR today, including a number of staff at lookout positions, bouancy aids, new signage, removal of water guns and the waterfalls currently being out of action...

If the removal of the waterfalls is permanent, I think this is a great opportunity to put in some great theming elements, maybe even a few small animatronics into that section. Almost certainly won't happen, but would be nice.

I hope the waterfalls don't disappear forever. It kind of annoys me that the experience has to be downgraded for fear that a few people won't follow clear instructions.

As a short term measure I completely agree with all the changes that have been made to Congo River Rapids.

I understand that the waterfalls being switched off may annoy some people but I do think it is sensible for the time being. The waterfalls is one of the most common spots for people to stand up and switch seats which is the very behaviour the parks will be trying to significantly reduce.

I actually don't think it looks that bad without the waterfalls. I would like them to return eventually but without the waterfalls it sort of looks like a ruined temple or something... if it's permanent, then with some more theming elements it might look alright.
