THE PIRATE SHOW IS BACK...The animatronic parrot (outside the curry place in Mutiny Bay) was advertising it, like flat out saying it runs 3 times a day...because Merlin have no standards!

Are you sure? Maybe it was some old speech Towers forgot to remove unless he says 'Back for 2017'.Even if it does come back it will be only something that runs in the peak times eg Towers Tastic Summer, Scarefest and/or Fireworks. I'll be happy if it does come back. :D I love it when I'm on the Skyride hearing Lady Gaga!

Got to love the really irrelevant songs they sing, haha. But it'll be great to see it back, as it brought so much life to the courtyard area.

It would be good if the pirate show is coming back as I quite enjoyed it, even though it was pretty cheesy!

If so, I wonder if it'll be the same story about the kidnap of Lady Victoria Sponge? - I guess we'll have to wait and see :)

Shame but it does make you think that the audio should be changed so as not to mislead guests :)

I quiet like the fact that the Parrot is directing guest to a non existence show, while these guests are waiting around for the non existence show, it means less people will be waiting in the ride queue lines ;)

Interesting, when was it you visited? As I visited last week and it was operational then, I understand duel had a stoppage yesterday or the day before which resulted in guests experiencing the ride with lights on so this could be as a result of that.

The towers just realised another behind the scenes video on twitter this time detailing ride evacuations and restrictions. I'm very happy with these videos as they a good job of explaining things that we've been seeing dramatised articles about.

The 2016 AECOM and TEA Theme and Museum Index Report has been released, revealing an estimated 3% increase in attendance at Alton Towers Resort for the 2016 season.

It is only an estimate as Merlin don't normally release their exact figures, however if it is accurate then it is a steady rise in attendance. To put it into context, attendance across the Europe and Middle East region fell by 1%.

I have heard the Heritage Soundtrack myself, however this video has audio that sounds different to what I have heard. I did think the soundtrack was good however a bit repetitive, so I don't know if there was looping issue with the music or wether I just haven't heard this bit yet, I'm not sure.

http://www.scarecon.org/ The 2017 ScareCon awards are at Alton Towers! Tickets are on sale now, tickets priced £40-£70. And there is no age limit, however, the evening entertainment will contain scenes and language of an adult nature, including full frontal nudity...

I'm considering going to this and thought it may be something that other may like to attend!
