I agree Ben but looking at those pics the gold/brown has got a lot more noticeable over the closed season, I think they've grinder it down and maybe repaint it
Yeah I totally agree, before the park closed, there were hardly any wheel marks, so yeah they have been doing a lot of work on the track by the looks of things.

Why would they store a ride car on a lorry like that though?!  Surely they would store them in the mech bay or station if they weren't being worked on?

They will have taken them to the main maintenance shed for the trains to have a good service/strip down ready for another year (I think?)

We'll I'm saying that looks like ride cars, and it's possible that if they got severely damaged, they might have had to send them back to gerst to get them checked out. I know normally they would be repaired in the maintenance shed, but we know that the cars have had several major problems.

Are you kidding me? These photos are amazing and are of very high quality considering they were taken from high up!

Apologies, In size I meant. As the size shown on the forum are rather small. It's ok though, I found the larger versions.

I have to say that, despite having only been at the park for one season, The Smiler looks knackered.

Yep and when it is only 10 years old it will be in around the same state at Colossus!

I love Alton Towers, and I really love The Smiler... But the track colour... Oh my...
Its absolutely ridiculous, no way a roller coaster should have that much paint worn away in just a year! Thats more than Colossus at Thorpe, and thats been there 12 years!
Even SAW's paint is still intact... WHY ALTON!? WHYYY!

Thanks for these updates, MI7! I think that the track of The Smiler must be rusted or it was a nice day, because Oblivion's rails are gold too. CBeebies Land is looking bright and colourful!

Cbeebies land is looking great and will be a good addition to the park. The smiler has had some work so hopefully a problem free season awaits. Rita and Th13teen are looking quite nice. These photos help to see the height of rita which you don't really notice until you get a view like this. Nemesis is looking ok going into it's 20th season. Luckily no more limbs have fallen off the poor creature. Nice photos!
