OK-I would've rather seen a new ride-but atleast the park hasn't been completly forgotten! :)

I actually hope this will happen. Chessington really needs a update since 2004, which was years ago!
Get on with it Merlin! :)

Oh no...Chessington need a new ride not an amphitheatre :( unless it's going to house a permanent WOW show then I think it's a waste of money.

Chessington - The Future

Thu Oct 04, 2012 6:55 pm

It has been ages since Chessy has got a new rollercoaster, or even a flat ride (2010) And yes I know Zufari is coming in 2013 but it seems to me that chessys turning back into a zoo. It needs more thrill rides, yes I know its a family theme park but it really needs a new rollercoaster or atleast a new flat ride, maybe a dive coaster?  :P (im joking)

I don't think Chessy needs a new coaster - I really like the park as it is. Well laid out, a very good mixture of rides for the family market and keeps its focus on its original idea - the zoo.

The park just needs to keep investing in the spruce up of areas as some are still looking a little more than shabby - the new areas look nice and feel fresh.

Some of the older flats need replacing and the whole land of the dragons needs a new theme as I don't particulary like it, and I would love to see a sky ride over the zoo area too.

For me Chessington has the right balance, for family's you can go out have a few rides and do the zoo. Everything there is suited for all ages.

I don't want Chessington to get any large big rides and I don't believe they fit in there, I have to say the Zoo at Chessington is very good and they are going in the right direction. Why would I want to go to a normal Zoo when I can get a slightly cut down version at Chessington and rides thrown in....

Like all parks it could do with money investing, but when I compare Chessington to Thorpe, Chessington for me is at a much higher standard.
If you go down to the woods today

I think Chessington need a new family area maybe a Dreamworks area to replace the whole of toy town.

Toy Town has become Africa with the Madagascar show or do you mean completly rip out everything and build a totally new kid area.

I'm pretty sure its been mentioned before but I think a largely themed river rapids ride would fit in perfectly with the parks family target audience.

I'm aware the Wild Asia area already has the Cobra, but I don't really class it as a flagship ride for the area. I think they need something bigger.

Transylvania has Vampire, Land Of Dragons has Dragons Fury etc etc.

I know rumors in the past have suggested the merger of Wild Asia and Mystic East which would see the Asia area inheriting a decent water ride, however I feel a well themed rapids ride is needed.

Yes Thorpe have Rumba, but lets be honest, the theming on that is awful, and we all know how well Chessington can theme an area/ride.
Now's not the time for fear. That comes later.

Chessington isn't a white knuckle park. The Vampire, Dragons Fury and Rattlesnake are best described as intense family coasters (although I can't think of any other family friendly inverted coasters).  They've set Thorpe Park up as the white knuckle part for the M25(ish) area.

It could do with a showpiece ride, but the new safari could be just that, especially if it had the water section like Rhino Rally (went on that ride knowing nothing about it, really unexpected surprise).

New 1.4 coaster at CWOA IDEAS

Sat Feb 02, 2013 3:57 pm

I know there is a new coaster topic but this is for only ideas on a 1.4 coaster

What would it be?
Where would it be?
What theme would it have?
What year would it open it?

My idea:I think at some point COWA should invest in a multi launch coaster like manta sea world san Diego  to be installed in Africa behind trees so that it wouldn't ruin the area, behind the trees would be the ride and a new plaza.
It would be a highly similar theme to cheater hunt at bush gardens but be low to the ground like manta,it would open in 2016 and have a top speed of 65mph

(Not saying this will happen just an IDEA)
