Winter 2014 I can guess means it will be ready to reopen on the opening day of the 2015 season. As Winter season starts on the 21st December 2014 and ends on Thursday 19th March 2015.

Aww crap, really, towards the end of last year the dragon highly resembled dog poo.
That is the first negative thing I've ever said about Chessington  I'm gonna curl up in a ball now...

Nothing wrong with the dragon theme in 2 areas I guess of the park. :/

I trust Chessington has everything under control so we don't need to worry about when stuff is going to happen.

I wonder if they're gonna add the lift hill rockwork back behind the buddha. Would also love to see the station cleared of dust on the inside and cleared of ivy on the outside.

I'd like to see a whole new station but I don't think that will happen

Does anyone have information regarding AMAZU? After visiting the zoo in december I couldn't really see much in terms of animal enclosure works, yet a small part of monkey and bird garden was still accessible from penguin cove. Does anyone have any information?

So they've ripped all the stuff out, and just left it?!

Will the Scorpion Express be open on annual passholders day (15th March)?

Chessington 2014 £14 million investment

Is suppose it won't be too bad, I have some lovely photos taken in the summer and falls actually looks like it is supposed to look like that, will all the trees and tomb blaster ivy behind it. The ride still has a very high capacity, the ride system still works, it pulls the crowds and its the most popular family ride.

Well the work on Market Square seems to be coming along. The Castle towers haven't looked that good in years. Hopefully Pizza Pasta gets some facade work as well. Although, for Festive Zoo Days, they had repainted the wall dividing it from the zoo.

Well, Mexicana is not being rethemed, or renamed.

The Resort News page just got updated. So not their third new land in four years. Oh well.

It's not really a new ride experience is it?? The ride itself has not changed at all?

Nah, it's just chessie updating the scenery and making a big deal out of it, but in fairness, that's a big investment for them ;)

It doesn't actually surprise me. Nothing's being done to rattlesnake, which doesn't immediately fit the scorpion theme, so perhaps in the coming years, rattlesnake could see a similar (and much needed) facelift, and then we might get a new land.

I would have liked to see some Dragon's Fury work. Ten years old, and not looking too great tbh, especially the queue

Chessington have just posted images on facebook of all the refurbishments this year. Amazu looks pretty cool!
Image

Thats a lot of scaffolding in Transylvania for its second phase of refurbishment. Hopefully removing the comical, "Bats! Enter at your peril" on the fire exit. There seems to be plenty of work for Amazu as well as market square.

More Azteca details released. As well as the Safari Hotels new Logo! The rooms available in azteca are also updated. If it looks like this concept, it will be AMAZING! :D

http://www.chessington.com/our-hotel/chessington-hotel.aspx

Also says Azteca is due to open on the third of august, and that Amazu will be available for evening access, like Wanyama Village.

I don't know if it's just me but looking at the pics above it looks like the former runaway mine train coaster is not themed at all. I thought they were building a new mine?
