According to staff yesterday they have scrapped the plans to even open at Fright Nights this year.

No completely SBNO, pending removal :/

Ahem, Saw Alive is opening this year!
It is very conveniently already horror movie themed, which is the direction the event is taking this year (each maze will be themed to a horror film).

Saw- The Live Maze

Sun May 08, 2016 11:07 am

After returning from TP yesterday it only occurred to me that I never actually went on Saw the live maze, Have I been missing out? Also is that popular for fright heights that it cant be replaced with another flat ride which will be open all year round.

The summer opening of Saw: Alive has been pushed back to an as yet unknown date.

I wonder what could be the cause?

Just experienced this attraction for the first time a few days ago and I have to say I was very impressed. The actors had really good make up and they came out of nowhere providing a brilliant thrill. I think the layout is nice and affective, and the flashing lights add a brilliant atmosphere. I was leading the line and at times it was a bit to dark to see where I needed to go but one the actors did a really good job leading me while still staying in character.

If you haven’t done Saw Alive yet, I definitely recommend it.

I also did Saw: Alive for the first time today and was also leading the conga line. The actors certainly were doing a great job, even if perhaps I had no idea what was going on most of the time.

Having done now a grand total of 3 different scare mazes (not counting the 3 different incarnations of Living Nightmare) I'm still not sure if I get that much out of the mazes in general. I've heard mention of the conga line through mazes before, but I didn't realise that it literally was a conga line, with hands on the shoulders in front. I spent more time trying to not lead the line into a dead end than taking in the scenes. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it much more being further back in the line either.

The jump scares didn't particularly scare me. My main take away was a lot of screaming from the actors and it was a little hard to figure out what was going on in all but maybe one of the rooms.

The people behind me seemed to enjoy/be terrified by it though!
