I honestly thought they were closing it, looked like it back in April, that's great news, I love the dramatic music off the X factor lol

I just posted about Thorpe being on the up and I honestly thought Slammer was being removed, now i'm even more impressed with Thorpe at the moment!

Slammer was working quite well. It had its moments though. It broke when we were on it today. The engineer had to be called to release the restraints. But luckily it was only a 5 minute wait.

The slammer page has been updated, and the news isn't good :( I think it's reached the point where we can almost certainly say goodbye to Slammer. That leaves us with the question of what's going to happen if it does go.

That's strange because it was running better than the coasters today.

Ah ok, hadn't seen it before. There was rumours of slammer and loggers being SBNO this year though.. Not sure if they were true though, spotted them on Thorpe park mania, also spotted this on there.

Im glad its operating this season, as i have yet to ride Slammer and seeing its the last of its type in the world, and all of last years downtime, i'm pretty this is its last season.
Better go ride it this summer before it goes for good...

Although I love the ride, it's just not the same anymore! :(

I don't get that really strong feeling of your insides being tossed about anymore, which while may sound odd is a fantastic sensation! :lol

Yes Slammer does feel somewhat less intense than before. I rode it the week it opened last year and it was so intense, whereas on Thursday it felt very tame. Not sure whether that's more a personal thing or if it's been noticed by anyone else.

More than happy to know that despite the discontinuation of this ride (for a good while now!) has not let Thorpe give up on it. Absolute classic of a flat ride and I can't wait to get back on it in May.

As was pointed out to me on Facebook Slammer is no longer listed on Thorpes website under rides. Is this a new thing or should I start the rumour mill up again?

This is a new thing, but it could be for any number of reasons. When I visited for MAP day there was a birds nest on of the 'leg' nearest the toilets, which could be preventing it from opening. Or it could be a technical issue, or a staffing issue or something completely different. Until TP decide to tell us, we won't know for sure. However, just looking at Twitter and they are saying its for maintenance.
