Re: I'm a Celebrity! Maze

Having experienced it this year at the Merlin Celebration Day, I can honestly say that the changes have no effect on the experience. Its nice to see them keeping it up to date with the more recent series, with the addition of a camp leader. And as a regular viewer of the series it was nice to see the Outback shack finally arrive, but overall the experience is basically the same. If you didn't enjoy it the first time round, than I highly doubt you will enjoy it the second time round, which is a shame as the theming in the attraction is actually really good.

Oh no! How very disappointing, I had quite high hopes for this "update".

Thanks for the review Dom. I never did it last year, so I might like the maze anyway :)

I must agree Dom - whilst a laugh, IAC was not good yesterday either!

There was more dialogue from the actors than before; however, the attraction felt very tired already. We're only a year in too!

Called in, we were welcomed to the camp before Ant and Dec arrived and a group leader was chosen but the role was not utalised throughout the attraction. The Ant and Dec segment had obviously been cut to take out mentions of last years scenes as the clip jumped at one point. I'm sure many of the effects from last year are broken. The buttons in the tanks did not work, trees no longer shook as you walked past them and at Cyclone there was no flashing lights, but just wind blowing down the hill and no real challenge.

The sorting of the camp mates undies was just cringeworthy before this, but Kiosk Keith's Nephew was brilliant in the Outback Shack. He really made it worthwhile and entertaining!

The queues were only 15 minutes, but I wouldn't wait any longer for it!

I agree with the comments and think it hasn't really improved the attraction despite the good theming - which I personally believe is the only good thing about it. I think the space could be better utilised to be honest and it is a shame that IAC didn't turn out better.

I haven't been through the attraction since July, and I was just wondering how the maze ends now- is the tube slide at the end being used? My group was told to exit the maze before the 'Cyclone' challenge due to technical problems and I noticed the slide was fenced off, and even when I wasn't using the attraction on other visits to the shop I don't think I've ever seen it in use.

You do exit the attraction via the slide :)

Any ideas of what the exterior music is by?

As far as i'm aware it's simply the music to the opening sequence to I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! however if it's been changed I won't know. As far as i'm aware this is the music utilized outside the attraction :)

No look it was playing music like this (it was playing in the queue for these too)

Yes, that music is hardly ever used - at least I've never heard it upon visiting the park :)

Just noticed on Thorpe's website that I'm A Celeb will close on the 4th September and will reopen at the start of the 2017 season. Is this normal for I'm A Celeb?
Ride count 2017: 346!
Ride count since the beginning of 2015: 857!
Cred count: 65!

Been thinking about this today. I wonder if any changes will be made to it over closed season, to coincide with the new series, like last year. I hope they give it a bit of work to keep it fresh, but I guess with all the attention DGBT will be getting, it could be unlikely that they will do anything to the attraction

Personally, I doubt it'll have any changes over the closed season but you never know, Thorpe may surprise us :)

I don't know, I'd like there to be some work done to improve the experience, but like you said with DBGT being the focus I really do think it's unlikely.

It needs bulldozing.

An atrocious attraction.

I'm excited for when they scrap it and turn it in to a scary jungle themed maze for Fright Nights.

I don't remember where I heard it but I believe the contract runs out this year, and I certainly don't see it being renewed! :P
