Legoland Windsor - The Past

by Burniel » Sat Mar 01, 2014 8:36 am

When I saw we had a board exclusively for LEGOLAND, I had to make this topic. I may not have many plans to visit anytime soon, but definitely like looking at the past ... my personal best memories are:

1. The Jungle Coaster
2. When Knight's quest was in Adventure land and had a different name
3. When S.Q.U.I.D. Surfer was called Wave Surfer

I love the good old Jungle Coaster, the roofs were weird though :D

Even though Jungle Coaster was strange with its golf cart style roofs, it wasn't a particularly good ride but a shame the park lost a coaster. When I last visited last year, I did enjoy myself and managed to do quite a lot in the time :)

Legoland Windsor - The Past

^^Knights Quests original name was Dino Dipper, and the Pterodactyl that was in the middle was a much more impressive Lego model than the rubbish castle that is there now!

I completely agree there, Dino Dipper > Knight's Quest by a long way! I dislike Knight's quest, it's very poorly themed.

There's one attraction I miss more than most, and that was rocket racers
The queue line was brilliant, and just the idea of making your own driver then racing was very unique

I Was one of the last people to play rocket racer on the last day of its last season.
Have friends that know staff there and heard that it was going.
Used to love the Larry and Murray walker lego men in the build your racer room.
Believe there used to be a upstairs too,but ride did closed for a few years then reopened with just the downstairs racing, upstairs was converted to a storage room.hence the stairs and walkways that when't nowhere.
Some walkways are still there in the starwars walkthrough.

I was actually on the last run of rocket racers,I found it very sad.
It was the attraction I would always want to go on as a child and one of my favourites to queue for

It was the best ride they had i mean they have like 2 rollercoasters and it was their best attraction. But NO they replace it with a Miniland. Why would people prefer to look at a Star Wars Lego thing instead of a ride. They could even of Star Wars themed it. It would kill the ride but at least it would still be there :)

My favorite memory was running around the Rat Trap. Shame it's different now...

The Magic Theatre is likely the attraction I miss the most. Though it was never a major/ground breaking nor, I always used to love walking through there seeing its fun creative features such as the skeleton cycle, atmospheric glow room and the on air trick exit at the end among other bits.

Was really sad when I found it closed down in 2008 and even more so when such an original immersive attraction was removed for such a bland monstrosity as the Xbox game zone.

Also miss jungle coaster eventhough the dragon was better, Rocket Racers which was fun attraction and Explorers institute which was just as original as magic theatre but lives on (sort of) in Laser Raiders queue.
