We’ve recently been contacted by David Younger, the author of the upcoming book; Theme Park Design & The Art of Themed Entertainment, which we believe will be of interest to many members, so felt it was worth posting here.
The book aims to offer the most in-depth literature on theme park design ever written! Across nine chapters and almost six hundred pages, the book guides the reader through every aspect of theme park design, drawing from more than two thousand quotes from both historical and brand new interviews with designers from Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Studios, Merlin Entertainments, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, and more. Take a look at the preview for a better idea of its contents.
While the book does look at theme parks globally, we’re told that there’s also a good amount of focus on Alton Towers and the other Merlin parks, with it also including brand new interviews with John Wardley, Candy Holland, and Ben Dowson.
If that’s got you interested, take a look at the press release or head over to the website for more information.
It’s now available to pre-order at http://www.ThemeParkDesignBook.com, ahead of a worldwide release on March 28th, 2016. The book will be available in two editions, a Hardback Color Edition priced at $69.95 and a Paperback Black & White Edition priced at $49.95 with free postage in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Europe, and Australia when purchased through the book website.
