Nice little park, Allways go there & PB when I go to Great Yarmouth. Just a warning though, You might spend all day queuing for enigma, 2+ Hours for when I last went, Which is not good in the respect that you could probably go on oblivion 5+ times in that amount of time :(

They're (hopefully) sorting that out over closed season. Not gonna hold my breath though.

That's been said for years now hasn't it? It's, frankly, a disgrace that it's been left for so long.

Is it the case that they only have 1 serviceable train or is the block system screwed?

@Will: It's a bit of both - though it's mainly because the brakes are shot to bits. The last couple of seasons has seen a couple of different trains being used, so it's just down to the brakes now I think. Hard to fix when you consider that parts would have to be made from scratch now too.

@Jem: Fingers crossed. Though the park contact over on Unofficial Pleasurewood is being very tight lipped over it.

Is it not something Wieland Schwarzkopf would do?

Well okay, not necessarily from scratch - but they won't come cheap when the coaster itself is the only one of its kind left.

The park have revealed 2 new rides have appeared on site, and neither are the Laser Labyrinth or the Drop Tower - meaning PWH will be opening FOUR new attractions next season!

Also, they have given everyone over on Unofficial PWH a free go at the new laser maze before it opens to the public... how nice of them!

It has also emerged that an "International star" will have a show at the park next year. I am currently guessing that it is Kevin Cruise from BGT.

Just a quick update for Pleasurewood Hills.

It has emerged over the past few weeks that more than one ride is to be installed for the 2012 season. In fact it's going to be a pretty busy year for the park.

Firstly, there is obviously the drop tower which is 95% confirmed although the park are keeping there cards very close to their chest on this still. Rumour has it that the park have acquired the Moser Gravity Tower from the defunct Karolinelund in Denmark.

At least two rides have been purchased from the defunct Loudoun Castle one of them being the Pony Trek ride which you can see being installed here:

And the other one is believed to be this one:

It's unknown whether any of the other rides have been acquired by PWH.

The other new attraction that opens today is the long awaited Laser Labyrinth that is situated beneath the Castle Theatre. We at Unofficial Pleasurewood were lucky enough to try it out on Wednesday last week.

Here we are at the entrance in the then half built queue line:

Image

The Laser Labyrinth is a pay-to-play attraction and costs £3 for a 6 minute go. The quality of the attraction is very high with great artwork and theming throughout the game arena with some great music providing an awesome atmosphere.

It has also been confirmed that a new show will come to the Castle Theatre next year. It is thought to be magician Sean Alexander who appeared on BGT a couple of years back although this is not confirmed.

All in all 2012 should be a very eventful year for PWH with loads of new rides and attractions to enjoy.

Edit: Here's a picture of The Witches House at Pleasurewood Hills as part of their Halloween Event:

Apart from the Ukrides photo, the other 3 photos are credited to @pwhills twitter account.

In more recent park news the Enterprise from Loudoun Castle has been spotted at the park.

If this comes then that will be the third new ride for next season not including the drop tower (which still hasn't been confirmed by the park)

An eagled eyed member of the UP community has spotted this

Image

on a couple of websites, along with the text:

Pleasure you can Measure at Pleasurewood Hills in 2012! Come to Pleasurewood Hills for hair raising, heart pumping rides for the bravest adventurers! Fly and flip through the air on ‘WIPEOUT’, touching speeds of almost 50mph; the region’s most extreme rollercoaster. Lose yourself on ‘ENIGMA’ and get blasted along 600 metres of twisted steel! Experience the ‘LASER LABYRINTH’ an indoor laser game of wit and strategy! Stalk your opponents and dodge their fire through smoke filled battle zones. Arriving in 2012, take the plunge on ‘THE JOLLY ROGER’ and experience the exhilarating drop back to earth. There are fun rides for all the family, including the little ones, in our kiddie Zone. Jump on board the new ‘PLEASUREWOOD PONY RIDE’ and then launch yourself on the ‘THE LIGHTHOUSE’ for an even better view! Our family favourites the Sea Lion and Parrot shows are guaranteed to make you smile, and brand new for 2012, Britian’s Got Talent star, ‘SEAN ALEXANDER’ is ready to leave you speechless with the amazing magic and illusion show.

Seems like 2012 is going to be big for the park.  5 new attractions including the UKs biggest drop tower, a new logo and slogan.  I can nee wait.  :D

Just to be clear, the name of the drop towers is The Jolly Roger then? :)

Unfortunately the drop tower is not the one that PWH applied for planning permission for  :( :(  So it ISN'T the UK's tallest :( :(

Fabbri Drop Zone 40m.  Apparently the park were unable to source the 60m drop tower so have bought a travelling model on a"temporary" basis.

It's the traveling one from the UK fair circuit. It rides like Detonator (same model but different seating arrangement) but looks horrible for a theme park.

I think the plan is that this ride is being used so they have 'something new' for this season and then they'll swap it out for the planned tower at a later stage. There's a press release from the park stating this somewhere.

It's also worth noting that the S&S shot at Fantasy Island is 200 feet - at least it is widely stated as that, it may be 180-foot clone of Blackpool's but it is stated as 200 feet everywhere I've seen. So if it's true then the proposed one wouldn't be the tallest anyway - although the actual freefall height probably would be.
