Do we?

The Schwarzkopf shuttle loop I've been on kicked the arse of any Maurer Söhne I've ever ridden.

Ireland only has 3 permanent coasters. Two of them are big apples. One is a spinning mouse ride.

I would have agreed with you, but now that Twist n' Shout is sbno and Loudon has bit the dust, I have to say they're equal with Ireland.

Walibi Belgium

Thu May 28, 2015 12:50 pm

I came across this while trying to actually find something for a different topic.
Screamscape had a small article with a Link
It goes to a page that describes a new type of water ride. Its by Mack and is said to be a innovative and surprising water ride.

This could be a very interesting ride and will deffinately open up for more, igenious, water rides.

From what i can work out, its going to be a mashup of a disk o coaster and splash boat. And for those not familiar with the technical terms, think Tidal Wave meets Kobra!

It will also have a turntable so two boats will be in operation. One will be loaded/unloaded, while the other runs.

Hmm, this is an interesting development and different take on the water ride idea, but I think it sounds good too :)

Pulsar's boats have now arrived on site, as shown in these images from Looopings which also provide a look at the progress on the station building. The boats appear to have some nicely padded seating.

I like the look of what Walibi seem to be doing lately with Lost Gravity and Pulsar, the style really grabs your attention!

Like if you look at Pulsars station, but imagine it in yellow and black, you just can't help but think Lost Gravity!
Ride count 2017: 346!
Ride count since the beginning of 2015: 857!
Cred count: 65!

Here's a video of Pulsar testing. It does look like the ride will offer a variety of elements such as hang-time, speed and water.

The park have released the first episode in a series of five which documents the development and construction of Pulsar. This episode looks at the process of selecting the ride type, and also touches on the development of its theme, although they'll be more on the attraction's theming in the next episode.

Here's the official on-ride POV of Pulsar. It does look like it picks up some serious speed!

As bizarre as this ride is, from the POV it actually looks like a lot of fun. It's kind of like a Shoot-the-chutes crossed with a Mega Disk'o.

This video shows shots of the loading procedures, queue line and some off ride shots. The wave created by this attraction is insane, one of the largest I've ever seen!

Re: Walibi Belgium

Walibi Belgium have today announced a €100million programme of investment for the coming 6 years. Most notably it will see the introduction of themed areas, with a number of new attractions including a major rollercoaster in 2021. The translated press release is below:

Walibi invests more than 100 million euros
Thursday 22 June 2017 - On the occasion of the first anniversary of PULSAR, Walibi raises a corner of the veil on his very ambitious plan of transformations, unequaled in Belgium. More than 100 million euros will be invested in the Wavrian park, starting next year. The aim is to reconfigure the site, turn it into a THE reference to Belgian amusement parks targeting all ages.

What can we expect in the next few years? First, to new attractions every year, but also, to a new thematization of each area of the park. At the end of these historical changes, 75% of the surface of Walibi will be metamorphosed.

Every year, new attractions!

2018 will see not only the installation of a new family coaster, located near the Challenge of Tutankhamon, but also the creation of a new exotic dressing of the area of the bottom of the park. Aqualibi will also write a new page in its history, with the creation of a 700 square meter aquatic playground for younger children, especially children who do not know how to swim. This expansion will allow Aqualibi to reach an area of 7000 square meters, completely immersed in a tropical atmosphere.

In 2019, three other areas will undergo a thematic renewal; Visitors will gradually take over the different worlds created in Walibi, while discovering innovations: an interactive indoor family attraction, a children's coaster, and a large conceptual restaurant.

In 2020: renewal of the western zone and place to an interactive aquatic attraction, as well as many other surprises ...

2021 will be a landmark year as it will highlight Walibi's reputation for its thrills, with the arrival of a giant, spectacular and unique rollercoaster in the Benelux in a completely new area. With this one, the park will count 10 rollercoasters, which will represent an absolute record in the Benelux. The zone targeting the Werewolf and the Vampire will also experience a re-emaciation.

A family attraction and the renewal of the area near the Flash Back will complete this important investment plan in 2022, 2023; Aqualibi will also inaugurate new slides.

Jean-Christophe Parent, Managing Director: "This ambitious development plan will allow us to further establish our position as the largest and most sensational Belgian amusement park for visitors of all ages. Walibi has always played a pioneering role in offering its audiences new and unique sensations. We are convinced that in the future, families and young people looking for an exciting day will be filled."

For an under-invested park this is great news.
