I love it! I'm so excited to see them put so much effort into a new ride, I can't wait.

It's certainly out there, silver track and gold trains!

It looks very Revolution. Amanda must have an obsession with silver and grey...

Having said that, it looks a lot better than the orange and green in the promos :D

Wow, that didn't take them long to be on the push with merchandise already. I don't actually like the look of any of that merch. Looks a bit tacky.

The merchandise is alright but the way the I is shown in the logo makes the ride name look like con, which looks a bit bizarre.

Wow I must agree with Dom, nothing particularly appealing about the current range. Looks like they've got excited with the logo and decided to slap it on everything.

I have one of the mugs and I quite like it. Much less expensive than Merlin's mugs as well.

Icon looks to be an interesting addition. It looks good, the colours look well, the layout looks exciting, and for Blackpool it is the first new coaster for a very long time. Infact if you disregard Infusion as a refurbished ride from 1999 the last brand fire new rollercoaster would have been the Big One in 1994?

I must admit I first looked at the ride and thought instantly we were looking at an intamin accelerator but I did have feelings of disappointment when i see that it's manufactured by MACK rides. It's nice to see the company put out a fast popular thrill ride in the U.K and I hope it brings many years of reliability and uptime but I am starting to notice a trend of high end theme parks with a good solid roller coaster design having them manufactured by lower budget companies. High end theme parks that absolutely demand the same levels of reliability and quality that B&M roller coasters bring. (I would say Intamin but Furius Baco is neither smooth or reliable). The financial climate has changed somewhat so we may not see the same well known manufacturers spawn new rides at all the major UK theme parks like we did in the 90s/2000s however Thorpe park seems to be the only solid consistent buyer in this case.

Mack rides is a reliable, high quality manufacturer that isn't too cheap either! They compete with the likes of B&M on smoothness and uptime and far surpass most Intamin coasters.

I fail to see how you you were disappointed by a Mack Megacoaster! Mack is an incredible manufacturer capable of world class rides.

Image Just going to leave this here ...

Seriously, you're welcome to the opinion that Intamin Accelerators are better than MACK Megas, but the reasons you've given are incredibly weak. MACK aren't just a company that spew out Wild Mouse coasters and Powered Coasters. They're one of the most innovative, reliable and high quality manufacturers in the industry, much superior to companies such as Intamin based on statistics alone. MACK are behind some of the smoothest yet unique and thrilling coasters in the world (not to mention the fact that they tend to use lap bars where Intamin tend to use OTSRs), and I for one am very glad Blackpool have decided to bring one of their coasters into the UK market, which has been starved of any high quality rides since The Smiler in 2013.
Rides on Dragon's Fury since SRQ installed:

I agree. Helix and Blue Fire are always high in people's top coaster lists so we have no reason not to be enthused.

I won't be able to get out to any American or European parks for a few years so it's exciting that we are going to get more rides that are unique to the UK such as the Megacoaster, Alton's modern woodie and hopefully a hyper coaster at thorpe.

I wouldn't want an accelerator over a MACK launch coaster (although thinking about it something like Taron I would take over this anyday of the week) but Icon is certainly not their best design ever. I'd also say MACK are certainly not more innovative than Intamin, and I wouldn't say MACK is superior whatsoever. It's nice they're finally starting to get into the big boys coaster market but to say they're superior to a company that has not only created countless fantastic and unique experiences, but also what is rated the best rollercoaster in existence is a bit of a stretch. MACK are doing well yes, but let's not get ahead of ourselves shall we?

Anyway... back on topic :)

I honestly am quite excited about this, but the lack of track is killing me! I can't wait to see the track go up and I seriously can't wait for this to open, because I'll only be an hour and a half away!
