Re: Carowinds 2015 coaster

Wed Aug 13, 2014 3:55 pm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJyPGgx0KdQ- This video regarding the new logo for "The Charlotte Hornets" NBA Basketball Team seems to show similar concept art to that of "Centurion". The shape and colour scheme of these two logos are similar and they both adopt futuristic appearances. This is why I believe that the "Centurion" homepage that featured on Carowinds website was a disguised hint at a NBA Hornets ride theme, however this is all speculation at this stage of construction. Logos start at 1:10.

I think it may be project Centurion, but the name will be hornet, like th basketball team with matching colours- it would explain all the secretive hints.

However I'd much prefer Centurion and a roman theme, it's just not looking likely :(

So the manufacturer and track colour is now confirmed, with this photo appearing on Facebook on the Cedar Fair Roller Coaster Construction page, showing that track has begun to arrive ahead of tomorrow's announcement.

Not a fan of the colour scheme at all. Turquoise track with lime green supports :/

So here's a leaked logo for the ride, although could be fan made it does look very professional:

:/ The logo you have got there does look genuine... and I could see Cedar fair thinking of "feel the sting" as a slogan...

Well the local NBA team is now known as the hornets so that would fit in with the rumour.

So what were supposedly 'leaks' did offer us a preview at what has not long been announced. Here's the layout:

Lots of details are available on the Fury 325 minisite, so there's no point in me posting them here.

Strange, it seems they are using the old, 1st generation hyper trains.

Love the speed and the inital drop but its pretty generic. Nice ride length and color scheme.

This ride looks like its designed for me. Everything about the layout looks great especially the drop and barrel turn. I'm exited to watch it's construction. :D
