The shortest I've queued for Wicker Man was 40 mins, so I think you're doing okay at 60 mins! :)

Here's a really awesome bit of concept art I've just come across that I'd never seen before... Has this been posted before but I just missed it?

That's definitely the first time I've seen that. Where did you find it?

Was googling wicker man pics for my latest musical offering *cheeky plug* and it popped up. This is the site it came from.

Ah yes, I saw that at the end of March! Can't remember if I posted it here though.. probably not, though I did post it on TowersStreet.
It's actually quite funny as usually the concept art looks better than what the final product looks like, but with this, what was actually built looks so much better than that concept art, haha!

Love the video by the way @Yappo :lol
I agree. This concept art doesn't look that great. I'm glad they moved closer to ram than dog

Spoke to someone today who said they queued 40 minutes for WM, then broke down right before they went in the pre show

Didn't stay all day but WM was running very well in the morning. Good dispatch and a fast moving queue. Think they're getting on top of the issues now. Expect less breakdowns, I hope soon.

Bradley Wynne, the MMM lead creative for Wicker Man, announced a couple of weeks ago that he has decided to leave Merlin. A shame really, because he and the rest of the MMM team have done a great job with Wicker Man. I guess it's always nice to leave on a high.
Apparently he will be taking the position of Creative Director for Escape Hunt UK.

While it is disappointing that Bradley has left MMM, I am confident that Merlin have learnt a lot from Wicker Man, with regards to well themed attractions and high quality ride experiences. Wicker Man has certainly paid off for Alton Towers and has received high praise. I am certainly one of the rides biggest fans!.

I really hope the trend continues for attractions which have a backstory or tell a story. Escaping to different 'worlds' really helps. The Walking Dead: The Ride at Thorpe Park does this well now, and Tiger Rock at Chessington looks to follow suit. The Gruffalo is brilliant too, so the future looks bright!

Hopefully Alton's next attractions will be well themed!

Definitely, I really am confident Merlin will learn from the success of Wicker Man – well themed with no silly gimmicks. Hopefully Towers next addition will be more like this. Wicker Man certainly is a hit with literally everyone – it's nice to log onto some other forums and see all those people who originally not only dismissed the ride, but who actively expressed their distaste towards it before they even rode it – they have a very different opinion now, obviously! :lol

It is fantastic! Certainly what Towers needed! I strongly believe this attraction stands out from any other. The quality is on another level!

Fun Fact!

Wicker Man now has a pre recorded professional announcement to alert the public that it is running/experimenting with empty trains on the track!

I believe it has for a while, I heard it at the beginning of the month.

Is Wicker Man still on ERT? I'm going soon and wanted to know.

Yes it is on ERT :)

Spinball whizzer is also on the ERT lineup.. I recommend you go there instead, on the 7th April we got on it 3 times in Early Ride Time because there was no queue. We had a lot of fun.

Wicker Man didn't actually go down at all today. Only to add the 2nd and 3rd trains when they were ready for operation. The staff on the ride today were sending out trains faster than any team I've seen at a Merlin park for years, so much so they got trains fast enough while operating three for the tunnel effects on the brake run to work, something that was supposed to be impossible until the sensor was moved. Fire is still down however it's actually not a huge loss, it is running phenomenally well. :)

That's good to hear, hopefully this is how things stay. I might finally might be able to finally get my ride on Wicker Man if I get picked for my school trip down in June.

What was the average wait time for that day then? The queue does seem to move fast sometimes even with a few small breakdowns.
