The whole Skyride colours arguement reminded me of this



Though I seem to have missed the EPIC FLAME WARZ‼111 I'd just like to chuck my 2 cents into the mountain of loose change. Am I the only one that is sitting on the fence on this?

At the moment I think they have the potential to be fun and simply nicer to look at than the old ones but on the other hand I am apprehensive about the effect of them FROM the gardens, though I still think they will probably look fantastic. Also the tinted windows! Why!? There is absolutely no need in Staffordshire, especially since you are looking DOWN through them most of the time. The big windows will lose a lot of their impact if too heavily tinted.

It probably sounds bizarre but the 70's look of the old gondolas kinda made them magical for me, in a bizarre nostalgic way (in a very Boards of Canada way, if anyone understands that). Nostalgic for a time long before I ever first visited the towers They looked very warm and inviting, gliding slowly over the towers and I am worried the new gondolas will have a strong feel of corporate banality about them.

I am reserving judgement until I see them in action, though first indications are good.

I think the new gondolas look great, but what I don't understand is why they redecorated them so late last season if they were going to replace them: I saw some covered in flowers, similar to the theme of one of the Monorail trains.

Speaking of the Monorail, is this it's last season, or was that just a rumour I heard?

Given that all the trains have been refurbished over the last year, I very much doubt that it will be its final season.



Only one of the gondolas was vinyled. Not sure why, whether it was to see what they looked like, or just a bit of spare vinly left over from the daisy train refurb, so decided not to waste it. Who knows

Last season one of the old gondolas were covered in a flower patterned vinal just as a experiment to see what peoples reaction to it would be.

The monorails last season? If you mean that it would be going then i highly doubt that would happen. Its had all these things done to it so they wouldn't get rid of it after Alton have been spending money on it.

I've heard in the Sharkbait topic that there's a new logo for CCL, could someone describe it please?

It's very colourful and has the Snorlix (baby dragon) on it with a nice vibrant theme, i saw it on the hotel reception screens.

Does anybody know iff there are any green or yellow gondolas?

Or is it just Blue, Pink, Red, Orange and Purple.
I really like them, very modern stylish and simple, can't wait to have a go in them on opening day.

Yes there are some green, and also yellow gondolas.

Ah just looked through the topic and found the yellow ones, they look good.

Out of curiosity are the green ones a dark or light green?

Dunno what type of green they are but on the first picture on this page I've spotted a purple one!

Edit: really need to read more carefully - someone has already mentioned purple - d'oh!

I think they will look great to be honest - just hope they give the stations some TLC

I assume Wobble means wobble as in bouncy, because it's probably just the bouncy inflatables they had with maybe a new one too?
