To take screen shots: K
To take AVI video: NUMPAD -> 0 (If you don't have a numpad you can change it by going to the set-up -> controls menu in the simulator)

Both the screen shots and video will out put to this folder:

Windows: (Usually C: Drive) -> Program Files -> No Limits -> Screenshots

Mac: Applications -> No Limits -> Screenshots

Right well I just shot some video, and took some screenshots. I know it was doing both because it told me the screenshots were being saved, and I got lag, and the NoLimits address at the top of the screen when I took the video. But the screenshots folder is empty. I ran the advanced simulator setup, and it says it is outputting to screenshots for both, yet the folder is empty :?

How odd...

By the looks of the 'Post Your Desktop' topic, you run vista. :P

Had a search around... it would appear that you need to press 'Compatibility Files' when you reach the screenshots folder to view the files.

Hope that works... :)

Indeed I do. The only reason I'm not upgrading to 7 just yet is because I'm out of Vista licences, and I spent a fortune on it (Ultimate 64-Bit on the day it came out to give you an idea :P ), so until I get my USB HDD and can make my Ghost image I'm not shifting :P

Ive seen this problem before, with various reasons too why its crashing. There might be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Firstly, are you running just RCT2 or add on packs aswell?

Does it crash the game, or the whole system?

Win 7 64 bit or 32?

Have you tried compatability mode for Windows 98?

Try disabling background software, Skype sometimes has issues with crashing old games in Win 7.

Let us know, and ill see what I can find. :)

Thanks Dan, firstly I am just running RCT2 no add-ons, it crashes the whole system, I can't use compatability mode for 98 because it won't let me load my parks and I am offline on Skype when I play, I hope this helps!

Hmm, try exiting Skype completly and see how that goes.

Also this is a semi shot in the dark, but Windows 7 does not have older versions of DirectX files by default, and DirectX 11 which comes with Windows 7 contains different core files and operates differently to other DirectX's and ive seen other games crashing because of this before. It would be worth downloading DirectX 9 as this could very well be a cause of the problem, this will not delete DirectX 11 either, it will just add the DirectX 9 files to your system.

Seeing as RCT2 required DX8.1 or above, of which the core files are not included by default in DX11, but are included in DX9.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/d ... 6652cd92a3

Standby for more information,...as they say  I might dust my disk off and see if it works under Windows 7 for me, seeing as I have the DX files installed.

No problem!

Ive just installed RCT2 and ran it on this Windows 7 machine for 15 mins with no problems at all. It could be your problem indeed.

Its very wierd seeing RCT2 in the flesh after all these years lol.

Right I want to download some tracks for no limits and most of them need track packager to get them to work but when I try to use it it says run time error 53 file not found: zlib.dll.

Can anyone help?

Then I'm not sure, I'd try reinstalling Track Packager, I've never had a problem with it, so maybe you have an older version or a bug or something.

I've tried reinstalling it and it still says the same thing, and I've tried a zlib fixer and it still doesn't work.

And does anywhere know where to get the auto support generator?

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the catwalks all together on the B&M inverted setting in No Limits? I've seen recreations like this one of Air and there aren't any catwalks. The only thing I can think of is to turn the ride into a floorless/sitdown, etc... and then flip the track around again, but that wouldn't be an easy task.

Does the normal way not work?

If not, try Construction Kit.
