Been a little neglected of late, but always a fun ride to go on, and is the best flat on the park at the moment. A little TLC to restore its theming and to bring back the ride sequences to its former intensity is needed, as well as more liberalism with the fountains and you've got yourself a must-ride.

A Huss Top Spin with an original theme, a short queue and rarely fails to turn your stomach...TIP: go on while the fireworks are on. Cue 'Manic' sequence including lots of inversions and a 'slight' delay in letting the water fountains down at the end of the ride (thus the seats 'catching' a lot more water than usual ;)).

 :P

When I went on this for the first time, I didn't know what to expect. The seats were a little rough and tight, but it's all for a good reason.

When this ride started I realised how high it was, and looking at the shimmering water below I got nervous. After a few swings and being held upside down I felt great. I was laughing and enjoying myself. Loved the fountain spray and the low swings past the water.

After I came off, I felt really good, and wanted more.

As you queue up you can see the ride holding its victims upside down as they scream for mercy. Then the ride operator lets you stand even closer to the ride as it stops and the last riders get off. As you take your seat you notice alot of people staring at the ride. When it actually starts you forget about them and are more worried about being held upside down and spinning round like crazy. The ride is great and a really good laugh if theres a group of you but the best thing is that the fountains are back and trust me you get soaked

In my opinion THE best non coaster ride in the park! Watching people's faces as you wait and watching them get a soaking is great fun. When you get on, the harness is a little tight, but it makes you feel safer. You then start to spin and flip and fly its manic! Then it holds you and hangs you tantalisingly close to the fountains before it sprays up right in your face. Practically impossible not to get wet only seen one person do it and he doesnt know how!

Along with Submission, a great thrilling flat ride. The chairs are tight, quite uncomfortable to begin with, but you sure do feel secure, with shoulder restraints then held down by lap restraints, you are really locked in place. Going over and over does not make you dizzy but instead you can't help but laugh as your hair drags inches away from the water. The best part is the finale of the ride, slow being held and lowered until you are vertical with the water and the fountains soak you thoroughly and then being flipped inches from the water. Great fun!

"I love this ride" as the restraints lowered. "I love this ride" as the restraints highered. I think this is a fantastic flat, in my top 10 rides for definated, beats alot of coasters I've been on also. All the great sequences, I prefer the more intense setting, but usually that's shorter. I've only ridden it once when the fountains worked, & even then I didn't get soaked. Hopefully this year I will. It's a very comfortable ride also, I would even sleep on it fully working for the night, if I had the chance. It's also a very intimidating ride, my friends backed out of it even though they went on Oblivion! Honestly it's the best flat at the park.

One of my favourite flat rides ever. Ripsaw is an amazing ride, especially in the summer. The restraints get a little personal at times but this is forgotten within seconds and the first rotation.
Having been on with fountains both on and off, I'm 100% behing riding with them on as this adds another dimension to the ride. It looks very intimidating as said above but doesnt leave you feeling bad at all, if anything this ride is the most moreish in the park!

Overall I give Ripsaw 9/10 Just wish it would last longer!

I really adore this ride. The girls thought I was mad going on it 5 times as seeing as I'd straightened my hair and perfected it before we got there, It did ruin my hair, but I loved it. We had a go on two of the sequences as we were there for 2 days. It is well worth the 25 Minute Max Queuing time, 40 on in one go is a lot so you shouldn't be kept waiting hours.

The Ride-
As you get let in by the attendant sometimes the people controling the fountains and ride spray the fountains so you get wet which hypes you up more :D Then you sit and wait whilst the last stragglers sit down and things rush through your mind then down come your top restraint which is snug and tightly fitted (It maybe uncomfy at first but atleast you ar god damn safe) then lap restraints come into place and may tighten you even more. Then you begin, being swung viggourusly around and swiveled upside down and on one sequence the back row got lowered into fountains upside down :o Lmao we got drenched. Then to end it you are hovered over these fountains and litterally blasted with water. Never wear white tops or trousers. As I've learnt.

Well Amazing. A Must Do Ride. =]

Good Points-
Adrenaline Booster
Getting Wet

Bad Points-
The squeaks from the framework which can put you off.

I loved this ride. I first went on it when the fountains were not working and loved it, but when the fountains are working it is even better!
It is one of my favorite rides in the park, and a trip to alton towers would not be complete without going on Ripsaw.

Can you cut it?

AHHHHHH! This is an amazing ride BUT BE WARNED!!! as you are lowered into the water jets, take a deep breath and HOLD YOUR NOSE!!! 9 of us went on together and as we were lowered into the water jets, upside down, the water shoots straight into your nose and mouth, causing you to swallow the water, stopping you from being able to breathe and causing you to choke! Once the ride had stopped, i couldnt stop coughing becuase of me choking on the water, but you only get sprayed for about 3 seconds so as long as you hold your nose and breath, you should be fine! Loved the ride so much and a great way to cool down on a hot day - gets you VERY VERY wet!!! :D

Had unlimited priority for this ride the other day and we were let in through the exit and told to join the front of the queue, what happened next, I got bloody soaked even though I wasn't on the ride, the queue was laughing at me complaining that I was soaked even though I hadn't even been on the ride yet, so when I rode ripsaw i was completely drenched in the end

Think I sat next to a TTF'er as well not sure, seen his pictures on here, think hes called dean, didn't realise he was from this forum till I saw his picture, he might remember me not sure

Ripsaw is a great ride. It's not a good ride in October though as you get drenched. The ride is better in summer. My rating: 8/10 :)

Ripsaw is great! It's the type of ride you can talk to your friends whilst on, all screaming "I'm soaking" "I need a hair bobble" etc.

Ripsaw is just great. When I was on it, my mad friend (sorry!) was yelling "I wanna get off! I wanna get off!", but the ride had already started. Oh, and NEVER leave money loose in your pockets. Always make sure that it's in the lockers with your bag, if you've got one. I never got wet on Ripsaw, funnily enough, but I've only been on it twice, so that's probably why!
