Quite nice, pity vandals have kicked in and it should be better when all of the ivy grows and they actually use the mist. Other than that its just a good walkway!

Experienced it on Saturday...
So, got to the entrance near the Flume and could hear the music. It was loud and suited the Haunted Hollow theme. Started walking down the path to the first 'tunnel', where hopefully ivy will grow over pretty fast... noticed it was a bit bare but got to the first 'grave'. It was a coffin and very well themed in my opinion. The skeleton inside looked great and if I was to see that in the dark, it would make me jump.
The talking gravestones are very good. Enjoyed listening to them although I can't see many people staying there to listen to them for too long. The path is actually quite bare from all the clearing on trees so is open over the lake and from the Flume... hopefully next year this will be sorted.
A few more gravestones and 'themeing' which seemed to be working very well and still the music playing in the background.
Overall I enjoyed the shortcut and as it is, a walkway, I can see it only get better if maintained propably. I give it an 8/10...

I notice that the sounds weren't on during the day, but came on later in both afternoons? I don't know whether this is what's supposed to happen.
It's definetly not enclosed enough. Especially in the part across the water, were you can see the path leading from the gardens to FV, I found this really annoying. Apart from that though it was a nice walk. The tunnel area should look really nice when it becomes overgrown.

| This for me is a great little attraction. You can enter the Haunted Hollow either at Merry England or Gloomy Wood and is a lot quicker to get between these two areas than walking all the way around like you had to in previous years. The theming is very fun and family friendly and provides many photo points.
The music playing throughout the attraction fits in perfectly and creates a nice spooky atmosphere. The statues towards the Gloomy Wood entrance play the same music however they have their own sound effects playing over the top. For example the cook statue has sound effects of her mixing in a bowl.
Also towards the Gloomy Wood entrance are some grave stones which you can walk across and they play spooky sounds. This is a great part for children (and big kids) I feel and when walking down there myself families seem to really enjoy this part.
Further down the path is a coffin cart which has lost a wheel and come to a halt. This is a great place for photos as the top part of the coffin has been cut away so that people can place their heads in and make it looks as if they are in the coffin.
Next up are two graves stones with faces on them. They talk to each other about extremely random things and tell each other jokes. And finally there is a large tomb which plays a sound effect as you walk past. Along the front of the tomb is a crack. When you look through the crack you can see a skeleton which changes from being completely dead to coming alive. This is a rather impressive effect however many people miss it so I feel some extra signage to attract people to it is needed.
Overall I think it’s a great little attraction that keeps you entertained whilst walking from one area to another. Come October time when this attraction turns live with extra effects and live actors I think it will be fantastic.

I think it's great! The best thing about it is that its such a big shortcut, but then again it is quite fun just to pass through and look at the scenery and the views! Also it's good for families because the statues use comedy in their conversations to each other.

| Very well themed, and is a brilliant shortcut to Forbidden Valley. The grave stones were great when they started talking. The skeletons were quite good, seeing aswell the walkway isn't completely finished. Should be much better when the mist gets installed.

Right, all of these past posts were quite positive for the Haunted Hollow.
However, I must disagree! I was really quite disappointed with the walkway. I am unsure whether my expectations were too high for it or what, but I really was expecting something slightly better than what is there at the moment.
I used to say Rita was the worst mistake Alton Towers have ever made, but now I stand corrected. The Haunted Hollow is, in my opinion, the worst mistake Alton Towers have ever made.

A very good attraction! Couldn't find the entrance for it in merrie england until i herd the music, fits in well ,good theming, to be honest im not sure if the spent all the money they said they did on it. Anyway i think it's a great little attraction for alton to have put there.

I visited Alton Towers yesterday and couldn't wait to walk through Haunted Hollow.
And I have to say...I wasn't that impressed with the attraction considering the amount of money that has been spent on it. I did expect a little more that what was there even though there was some nice little features such as the tombstones and the "mirror" effect.
What spoiled it was the large gaps in between these features and these really took away the gloomy/spooky atmosphere.
Hopefully the attraction will have much more to offer come Halloween time

| I love this shortcut. I entered in Gloomy wood and loved the music as it added to the atmosphere. I walked past the talking statues and loved the one of a woman scared to death. I walked past and I came to the mini graveyard. My little brother enjoyed stamping on them. I then went through the tunnel and enjoyed watching my brother being scared s***less.
Over all. 8/10

Me and friends went to Alton Towers with college today. We decided when we were in Merry England to go on Dual so we decided to take the walk through the Haunted Hollow. First of all we couldn't find out where it was as it was hidden well from view so we had to look at the park map and continue on. I would the walk very dull and boring, I went during Scare Fest and even then some of it wasn't working and it was boring to walk round. It said on the map that it got better at 4pm but by then we were getting ready to go back. I do agree with tomfeltonfan this was a waste of money and could have been used better else where.

| It's great for the morning when your going to Forbidden Valley, a good shortcut. It is a bit strange though how later on they have a smoke machine that just puffs out loads of smoke randomly, also why does that groundskeeper gravestone make those really strange noises like a wolf or something. There are also really good bits like those two gravestones that tell jokes, that's really funny!
