TTF South Fright Nights: 13-14 October 2007

The date for this meet-up is now confirmed as the original date of 13th/14th October.

If you have since planned to go to Alton Towers on that date - that's fine, and no doubt we shall see you instead at the Official Scarefest meet on 3rd/4th November.

There's still room for discussion as to whether this meet shall include one day at Chessington and one day at Thorpe or just two days at Thorpe. The Saturday will definitely be Thorpe Park, the Sunday could be Chessington if people are interested.

I'll start up a Who's Going List in here in due course and if you could post details of your accommodation, that'd be appreciated!

Personally I'd say do Chessington on Sunday - speaking to a Chessie ride op on SouthParks, Hallowe'en is apparently very hush-hush over there to the extent that even the staff don't know what's going on and it's supposed to be quite exciting. However, it is only a childrens' park, so I don't mind myself.

Ok, im going to try and go with some mates and come and say hi. Won't be staying the night though as im only about 70mins from the park by car.

I'll possibly be there, depending on how the which-park-which-day thing pans out.

If it for some odd reason ends up being Thorpe on Sunday, I'll be there. If not, I'll probably be there anyway whilst you lot are vandalising Chessington :lol:

70 mins!? My parents live 10 mins down the road and I will still find an excuse to stay over in the Chessington hotel whenever I visit from now on!

I've booked the 12th and 13th in Sunbury Travelodge (I'm going to have to leave on the Sunday for work on the Monday - eek!). I decided to head down on the Friday to perhaps have a bit of a chillout before the Saturday so I'm not knackered after a 5.5 hour drive.

Sunbury's a new Travelodge, it only opened 3 days ago! It's got the new room design with flat screen TVs and stuff too (they apparently look similar to this) and the bar/cafe which is supposed to look Like this

We shall wait and see though

. Rooms are currently going at £26 a night if you're quick. Not sure if I'll have any spare places or not in my room yet, I'll confirm later! One thing I'm not sure about is how strict they'll be on the 3 adults maximum rule with it being a new Travelodge they may be stricter on the rules, I guess we'll soon find out!

Ah bugger missed the parking charges bit. comparing it to Feltham, it's an NCP car park which normally charges £10 for 24 hours but TL have a cheap rate that brings it down to £5 a night. Can see Sunbury being similar to be honest.
