If you can make it, we'll all be meeting up between 12:00 and 12:30pm on Monday, 31st December at the Old Swan pub (Wetherspoons) at Uttoxeter for lunch and some drinks. Following this, not sure on the time, but no doubt mid-afternoon, we'll be travelling over to Alton Towers. After the party/golf/drinks/food/waterpark, it'll all be over on the Tuesday evening.

Well due to the overwhelming popularity of the NYE mini-meet (it was originally only four of us!), it's been decided to make that the next Official meet-up. ROOMS ARE NOW SOLD OUT.

Regarding the proposed Resort meet for December, basically there is a massive problem with booking rooms on Fridays and Saturdays in December in the hotels, simply because they are booked out for conferences/works dos. And we didn't think a mid-week meet would go down too well! Obviously, we plan to have one in February for the Half Term Hullabaloo, but if you would like to suggest a meet-up venue/date for before then, feel free to PM one of the team who will put it for consideration.

Right, so New Year's Eve. Basically, it's £120 per person with annual pass discount (subject to change). Rooms can be booked for a minimum of 2 adults, a maximum of three. All people in rooms must be declared at time of booking, due to the extras the price entails. It is NOT a case of booking a room and dividing the cost between the amount of people in the room. A room for two will cost £240 if both have annual passes, a room for three will cost £360 if all three have annual passes.

Fairly expensive, but everywhere is on New Year's Eve. I don't think this is too bad at all.

Also, as a side-note, we would like the terms and conditions on the Alton Towers website to be read before joining us. ANYONE found to be causing ANY trouble whatsoever in the Hotels on this Official Meet - or any henceforth - will be subject to severe disciplinary action regarding their account membership. This is really being cracked down on folks, so if you plan to get drunk - that's fine - but like I say, any anti-social or inappropriate behaviour in the Hotels will be dealt with harshly. Don't say you weren't warned. Once again, I stress that this applies to EVERYBODY - no matter who you think you are.

9. Behaviour Policy

Your behaviour should not be excessive or rowdy, especially at night. Offensive or illegal behaviour will not be tolerated and could lead to eviction from Alton Towers and/or the Hotels. You must show consideration for your neighbours and other guests. Please treat accommodation and facilities with respect and care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. We reserve the right to recover from you any compensation that we may pay to other guests as a result of your action.

So, for example, if you annoy three rooms by being rowdy or noisy, and Alton Towers decide to refund them the cost of their rooms, it could be YOU paying for it. Please bear that in mind. If you cause trouble, you ruin the night for everyone else who has to nag and moan to calm you down and worry about possible consequences - it's just not fair, so please try to think before you act.

Sorry for the lecture, but it appears to be necessary. But everybody can have fun without breaking any rules, and PLEASE remember that if you are on a TTF Meet and you individually decide to break the rules, that you make the ENTIRE group - and even the forum itself - look bad. As much as that's VERY crap, it's a sad fact.
