The themed rooms are great for people of all ages, top notch entertainment and very friendly and pleasant staff. There is also a good little shop selling merchandise and snacks etc., if you want to experiance the true magic of Alton Towers, get yourself here.

Is well worth saving up for. Go out of season (september) during the week if you can as there is less little kids and shorter queues. The hotel makes the experience magic and you can be a kid again, but with the advantage of no parents and access to the bar!! I just wish someone would pay for me to try out the themed rooms, anyone been in them???

Fantastic. It is, in my opinion, the only part of the resort that still feels magical. The staff uniforms and the theming etc. The waterpark is great, a bit small but will keep you entertained for a few hours. The entertainment is great fun, with Tanya Hyde and Dic kie (i had to leave a space because of some silly word filter!!) Hart-hilarious duo. Food and drink is a bit expensive (jus under £3 for a pint of fosters and £6 for a bucket of pic n mix!) but what do you expect!

Grown up Adventures

The Alton Towers hotel is more reserved than Splash Landings and seems to be more geared towards adults. Rooms are spacious, and it all seems so much closer to the Reception instead of the long walk faced in Splash Landings if your put at the oposite end.

The Secret Garden is a fantastic way to kick of the morning and end the hectic day had in the water park/theme park.

Entertainment at night in the main atrium is as entertaining for adults as it is for Children (We love you Dic-ky), highley recommended.

I prefer the experience had by stopping in Splash Landings and using this for its entertainment, and restaurant facilities.

Absolutely brilliant!

We were treated very well from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.

We arrived too early to check in, but our luggage was labelled and taken to our room while we went off and enjoyed Cariba Creek.

When we did arrive in our room, we were pleasantly surprised by the size of it, but shocked by the temperature! I would recommend that anyone staying there in warmer weather take a fan with them, as the window didn't provide much of a breeze and there was no air-conditioning.

We went into the bathroom, only to find that we had been given 2 bath towels for 4 adults. We walked down to reception, told them and, no more than 15 minutes later, a maid was knocking on our door with 2 more towels.

We went out for dinner, so I can't comment on the food or prices at the hotel restaurant in the evening. However we used the 'magical' lift to go down to breakfast on Sunday morning at 7.45, and were able to sit down straight away in a relatively quiet Secret Garden. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and concerned that we were having the best stay possible.

Overall, our trip was the best we have ever had to Alton Towers and would recommend that any AT fan stay in the Hotel for an extra-special weekend away.

Well, my first ever trip to a hotel let alone the Alton Towers Hotel was a bit eventful its fair to say. Anyway onto the review:

The exterior of the hotel is very well looked after and the garden at the back of the hotel is very well kept and is great to relax in after a day at the park or in the Splash Landing's very own Cariba Creek.
After checking in the very friendly porter took our bags into storage as we had arrived a little early than we bargained for.
When we were finally let into our rooms the first thing that hit me was the space we were given, even though I was left to sleep on the floor (thanks to a pre-trip game of cards, but thats a different story)
After our incident (I wont bore you with details-but basically our locker was broken into at Cariba Creek) the staff were absolutely fantastic in treating our case. Infact as a result of the locker being broken into the 4 of us all lost a pair of shoes (in the case of me and Anthony our only pair we had with you). When the staff heard of this we were driven to Lidl round the back of Hotel Colosseo in Uttoxeter to pick up a cheap pair.
The food at breakfast at the Secret Gardenwas fantastic, especially the waffles! Good value for money and a great selection.

I cant compare the hotel with the neighbouring Splash Landings as I havent been there but for £60 something a piece(at the time we stayed anyway) the hotel and the staff in particular were both great, simply fantastic.

What a magical Hotel this place is.

When arriving, you drive around the corner to look straight on at a wacky water feature placed in front of the very nice looking hotel. Parking the car is no problem with the hotels own car park which is right next to the hotel.

You enter the hotel and it takes you a little longer than usual to get to the reception desk as your to busy looking around at all the detail and themeing in the hotel. The staff at reception are very polite and friendly and make you feel extremely welcome. Your bags are tagged up and taken to your room for you if you arrive before 3.

Walking over to the balcony and you start to see part of this extremely well themed ship, you look up into the roof to see this huge hot air balloon and down on the bottom floor is the ship its self with propellers slowly turning around on the reception level.

The rooms are a good size and come complete with towels, hand wash, soaps and shower gel. Also a kettle with tea and coffee sits on the desk which is very handy after a long day at the Water Park or theme park. A TV with free games to play and an Alton Towers channel to help you plan your visit is also sits I the corner of the room. The beds are very comfortable and are very warm and cosy.

The Secret Garden Restaurant serves very nice food for all the family although it is a little expensive for what you get. Also drinks at the hotels can end up costing you a fortune at £2 for a coke.

The gardens at the back of the hotel are a great place for photos with a huge fountain, a wooden hut, rockery and a seating area. This makes a great place on a summers evening to sit back and relax.

Overall I think this is a fantastic hotel and a great way to top off a visit to Alton Towers. To make the most of your stay though I would make a trip to the hotels in the winter when they are less busy and you can make full use of the water park and spa.

:D

The alton towers hotel makes alton towers as magical as Euro Disney.

The hotel is themed excellently, the staff leave nothing unturned in making sure your experience is as good as can be.

There is something about the hotel which is difficult to describe. The fact that you are in a fun hotel, waiting to visit the UK's best theme park, it really helps you build up for it all!!

I would love to try a themed room though.
