Re: London Paramount - General Discussion

Delay after delay, setback after setback, and now this. No matter how that spokespersons tries to spin it in that video interview.... It's not good news.

At least we have a new thames crossing to look forward to now I guess?

Or Universal could just buy out the project. I can dream right?

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016

I also had a problem with this "green gas" part... it can go on for minutes and barely anything happens! People were confused and taking their masks off. If it's a filler, then the filler needs to be more entertaining than a screen of green gas with nothing to look at. Or maybe just d...

I did wonder why the queue was posting 70m today! Crazy.

Exact same stock email answer John Wardley replied with when a TowersStreet member emailed him a couple of weeks back with the same question. Kind of funny he gets so often pestered by enthusiasts he has a stock answer ready for this type of thing!

Re: Nemesis Inferno

Found this lovely 2003 footage of Nemesis Inferno. Check out the fake lava on the floor! Also I can't seem to put my finger on the music playing in the area? Seems Alton Towers-ish. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGI5HS26uhc I remember being at the park on opening day in 2003 and commenting that c...

When would the best time to visit the park would be in June? Mid week i'm probably guessing but what day would you say would be best?

Midweek and the earlier in June the better. Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday are all similar when it comes to how busy the park is, weather depending.

Re: Universal Orlando Resort

wouldn't the acquisition of dreamworks cause a problem with motiongate in dubai? it has an entire indoor themed part exclusively for dreamworks IP's All the paperwork will have already been signed, "takebacksies" won't be allowed. IoA still have Marvel attractions because the deal was mad...

Re: Ride Downtime 2016

As has already been mentioned so far in this topic, RideTimes isn't always the best tool to use when gauging actual downtime as a) it is only updated every 30 minutes and b) just because an attraction is listed as closed it doesn't necessarily mean it has a technical issue. I believe at least one o...

Re: Ride Downtime 2016

According to the data from ridetimes, here is all the downtime which was published by Alton Towers so far this year: http://i.imgur.com/ij0SYbR.png Notably Oblivion is having ongoing issues it would seem. The other rides are largely inline with their usual expected amount of downtime. Notably Galact...

Re: London Paramount - General Discussion

It's a great location for a theme park, and a so called "global resort" is definitely welcome just outside London. I still however have serious doubts that the Paramount brand and ride IPs proposed have the attraction power needed to make it work on this scale. I know we really want someth...

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016

I imagine the budget for this promotion was quite large, so it will be quite embarrassing to only have a couple hundred entries in the competition.

Someone needs more entries to justify their promotional competition, which was probably too hard for most people.

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - New for 2016

Some people sound surprised that there could potentially be some complex effects, and "lifting, lowering or moving" of the suspended train. The budget for this ride is huge, so we always knew there would be some serious hardware in that building, we just didn't know what yet. So why rule o...

Re: Forbidden Valley Rollercoaster Restaurant

14 tables will be fine, when you consider that they seat 12 to a table, and tables are shared with other groups. Sure it's not a huge canteen that every person on park can eat at, but it's probably a decent size considering we all know it's going to be at a premium price point. I would also agree we...

Re: Universal Orlando Resort Discussion

This Kong ride really does look like it is going to be something special. That photo update is great. A return to the classic "Kongfrontation" and "Jaws" ride format people love, but big budget 2016 style. People still love this ride format at Disney parks, it's long overdue a co...

If the rumors are true... Really the only surprise is Hex, the others are not really that much of a shock. -Charlies agreement has run out, so no surprise there. -Ripsaw is a future development location, and next door to the new Air developments, so no surprise there. -The Flume is a future developm...

I think that Hex is so great, because I feel like I'm actually in a theme park when I ride it, rather than just an overpriced amusement park with some rollercoasters.

What's the crowds been like compared to past Firework events? Compared to previous years I would have said it was pretty quiet. In previous years, capacity closures could be threatened, but it never really got close to that kind of level. Most days during Scarefest half term week were far busier bo...

Cadbury's will be sponsoring the ride next season.

When did Cadbury's sponsorship end the first time around? Interesting scenario to have a ride originally sponsored by Cadbury's rebranded and then sponsored by Cadbury's again.
