Alton Towers 25/03/19

Hi all! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here, but here goes! I had a day off work today, and a new Merlin Membership burning a hole in my pocket, so I decided on an impromptu trip to Towers this afternoon. I didn’t arrive until 1230, but it was a quiet day on park and I managed to ride al...

Re: The Next Themed Area/Area Refurb

I think a Tudor/Victorian themed old English style street would compliment the Dungeons perfectly, if it was up to me that’s probably what I’d go with.  When it opened as Talbot Street that’s exactly the theme it had, a Victorian Street complete with undertaker! I’d like to see some sort of return ...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

Thinking about it, Charlie technically has two things seen in other Dungeons, primarily the London one. The boat ride and the elevator. It’s possible they could reverse the boat ride and instead you enter via what was the exit for Charlie and then they use the elevators to represent the descent par...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

I know it’s not meant for the SW marketing, but if Rita wasn’t there then it could of still tied in.. and true, probably just a weird thing Got to remember that it's an image aimed at the general public. We know that Rita wasn't a Secret Weapon but the vast majority probably don't. They're all just...

Re: Merlin Membership

Do they take a payment while you sign up? Or is the first payment taken in a month's time, like when you take out a phone contract?

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Possibly going on Monday, so fingers crossed it's a quiet day. Maybe someone who's ridden could answer this. I'm quite well built, sometimes need to use the bigger seats on Nemesis and Oblivion. What are ny chances of getting on The Smiler? I hate to put you off but when my step dad rode it he came...

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

I hope a test seat turns up; I've got quite a big frame and don't fancy queuing up for the embarrassment of not being able to get on :(

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but has anyone seen a test seat at the entrance?

Re: Stoke/Uttoxeter/Blythe station to Alton Towers

Depends on how early you want to get to the park really! You could catch the 05:37 from Chester, change onto the 06:35 London Midland train from Crewe arrive at Stoke at 06:57, then catch the 07:20 bus and arrive at the park at 08:20. That's a very early start. Or, You could catch the 07:35 from Che...

Oh really? Awesome. I tried to ride Samurai at Thorpe a couple of months ago and couldn't quite get the OTSR to close. But if LV is different then happy days!

Re: Lightwater Valley visit - yes or no?

Sounds like it might be a goer! Just need to convince the mrs and Mum and Bro that it's a good idea. Mum's disabled, so it's £11 for her, and they also admit 2 carers for the same price which I think is fantastic. I was hoping mainly I'd get on the Ultimate, but having heard you guys' input and read...

Lightwater Valley visit - yes or no?

Hi All, I'm going up to Yorkshire on holiday in a couple of weeks, and forgot all about Lightwater Valley. Is this park worth a visit? It seems reasonable admission but it's a bit out of the way so wouldn't want to waste a trip. I've been to Flamingoland a few times so looking for something differen...

Re: NO SPOILERS - 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

If it's the same restraints as the existing Extremis rides, you'll have no problem at all. I need to use the bigger seats on Nemesis and Oblivion and I can ride Extremis without a problem.

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

It's usually my chest / shoulders I have trouble with. I can't get on Colossus because of it, but I can get on Infusion at BPB at a push and usually no problems with Saw or Stealth. I dunno, will just have to hope!

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

Quick question for anyone who's been today. On Nemesis/Oblivion, I need to use the big seats, as I have a big chest and shoulders. What do you think my odds of fitting on The Swarm are? It's a long drive from Stoke to not get a ride!

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Hi all, long time member not posted for a while. So this all looks really good to me. Nice to be having some development in X Sector, and about time the Black Hole area was used for a ride instead of storage space. The station building itself, I'm kinda impartial to. I've been trying to think about ...
