Re: Possible Dark Ride development?

On the subject of dark rides for Alton. I take it you have all seen the four, fantastic documentary's recently released by Peter Lambert. That cover the design and construction of The Fifth Dimension, Terror Tomb, Bubbleworks and Alton's Haunted house. Very interesting and they give you an idea of t...

Re: Galactica - 2016 Air Re-theme

I find it strange how Merlin are installing two VR attractions with similar VR technology but have decided to use different company's for the headsets. Samsung for AT and HTC for Thorpe. With Rollercoasters at least, the group have a history of unifying new installs for multiple parks to the same ma...

Re: Towers Loving Care

The white is a base coat. Has to be applied to protect the track. Looks the same off white base coat that is visible in pictures when it opened in 1994. The rustic look will no doubt be applied afterwards. Hopefully the station and waterfalls get some much needed attention too.

Re: Will Merlin buy Drayton Manor Theme Park?

But Alton Towers is serious competition to Drayton Manor. An hour is not that far away, not for a family day out, it is even less far away when you consider people might stay over a few nights spreading the journey to and from over a few days. I would say this is one of the reasons why Drayton decid...

Re: No Limits and Other Software Quick Questions

What are the specifications of the computer, IE what is the exact video card model and processor model. Generally, video ram does not determine if you can run a game / 3d software or not, as video ram pretty much only holds textures which can usually always be lowered or raised in quality depending ...

Re: Future Developments

I said TTF, not TT, which currently it has took a downturn and is pretty quiet, dead infact to what it was a few months ago. Either way, it will take years and years to build TTF upto what it was, like it was before. If it even will return to a community like it was. I do however have faith that you...

Re: Futur Developments

In my honest opinion, and I have been here nearly a decade! Is that TTF has pretty died now. The core members that made the forum a vibrant place have left. I seriously cant see TTF what it once was, not without the old group of members coming back, and i cannot see that happening.

Re: Had no idea about this Bubbleworks copy

The scenery part of the ride was actually made by a company known as Rex Studios. Their website is not long online, not sure why. The ride was listed as one of their projects.

Re: The animatronics problem

I am sure the problem lies with maintenance, yes if its not maintained properly things will break. The trouble is, rides with lots of animatronics means a lot of maintenance, alot of maintenance means a lot of money for upkeep. Thats just how it is. Massive company's that use these robots can afford...

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

Well, after this weekend it rained heavily Saturday, Sunday, and Monday all day here in Tamworth. Let alone a heavy downpour today for well over an hour.

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

I cant help but think that what a waste of money this ride was due to it closing after 9 years. Everything was brand new for 2003 including the ride system. As Sandy already said, The Jungle Cruise boats had engines onboard and a driver. The ride has had a bad past in terms of relabilty though to be...

Re: Drayton Manor 2012 Season

In regards to that article about the Ghosts. It's not a marketing stunt Richard Kingstone was my teacher for IT back in the day, and he often used to talk about these sightings at the park.

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

While that unofficial soundtrack sounds ok, ill agree and say it does not fit the main theme of the ride at at all.

It's too much like a standard piece of dubstep in the structure and composition, rather than a sound track.

Re: Drayton Manor Park Future

Apocalypse has never been an issue for the park no, it can be seen all over Tamworth far a wide. Shockwave and other rides however have been. Deer park housing estate is about 200 meters away from Shockwave at it's closest point. But on a day when the park is operating you can clearly hear lots of n...

Re: Abandoned Disneyland Style Park

After having a little look, this is what I got from Wikipedia. Wonderland is an abandoned 100-acre amusement park on the outskirts of Beijing. Originally designed to be the largest amusement park in Asia, construction stopped in 1998 following financial disparities with local officials, while a 2008...

Abandoned Disneyland Style Park

Found this while browsing another forum about something completely different, and thought people on here might like to see them. This park was never even opened or finished, and is located somewhere in China. That's all I know.

Re: RCT Retirement

RCT3 does sometimes have issues running under any version of Windows that has a multi core processor. The error is that runtime error that has been mentioned. It can be fixed by following that link to the securom page a few posts above, downloading the tool, finding the RCT3 exe and allowing it too ...

Aye, but like you say Blaze I hope they come to there senses and decide to finish off everything that's essential for the core functions of the simulator, then leave some of the more elaborate stuff for later updates so that the release date is pushed forward. At this rate the graphics engine is goi...

Re: No Limits 2

It's been over a year in the making now, and by the looks of that Kumba video they have just released, there is no finishing date as of yet. But yes, it's going to be huge and I can't wait to see the final product. No Limits 2 has been in the making much longer than that! Around about 5 years alrea...
