Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Hey, so just had a look for you on the ATR website FAQ's and here is some information, hope it helps. It looks like they aren't opening the Dungeons for that date though. " WHAT RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING SERVICES WEEKEND? All rides and attractions are scheduled to be open ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Has anyone got any experience of going for the blue light services day?  I've been invited along this year, going on Sun 17th March. It seems the services day is used as a 'soft opening' before the public opening.  Wondering what rides are likely to be open, if the Dungeons will be open and the like...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

Hi guys, got my first couple of rides in on Wickerman over the past two days, one at opening on Thurs 1st and another late yesterday (Fri 2nd), just a couple of questions... Firstly, it was evident just how much faster it felt on the late ride, after it had been going all day - what are the...

Yes, it's worth a go, just don't expect something revolutionary. Personally, I think the Galactica revamp was worth it just for the new soundtrack :)

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

So have just been told by the booking team that Flambos is now only pizza and Pasta buffett. But to make it worse she said the price hasnt changed. £22 for a pizza pasta buffett is a bit high of you ask me. I saw this on the website but thought it must be some mistake, obviously not. Although the q...

Re: Towers Loving Care

I'm so pleased to see the effort they are going to improve the presentation around the park. I hadn't planned to go back until 2018, however, I feel as if the Towers deserves a visit in 2017 to help towards, what I will hope, will be a new lease of life for a park from 2018 onwards. Maybe a stay in ...

I'm pretty sure I heard it is shut. I would think it must be, with the construction of the new hotel.

Thanks for the response, another quick question...

Does anyone know the current timetable for the evening entertainment in ATH?
Having a snoop around on the website and can't see anything.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Would someone be able to tell me if the Woodland Walk is still available to use?

If so, is it available during Early Ride Time? Can you go back to the hotels at park close?

Thanks :)

Re: SW8

Without sounding ungrateful about the fact we're getting a wooden coaster at last, the more I look at the plans and the No Limits renders 'Spacemonkeys' has shown on the previous page, the more I feel that this coaster will be way too short. I think the eventual investment in a woody should have bee...

Re: The Smiler Incident 02/06/15

As has been mentioned before, this interview was totally bias, had irrelevant questions and really showed Kay Burley's ignorance when it comes to most issues. If you feel strongly about it, take 5 minutes out of your day to complain to Ofcom - link below. http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/complain/" onc...

Re: 2014 Scarefest

Guys I need opinions! Which is the best maze this year? TOTT or Sanctuary? I'm doing an Extreme Maze this Saturday and want to know which would be the best to do, as extreme tickets will likely have sold out by the time I've gone on them both to decide. IMO, ToTT is the superior maze. I went in bot...

Re: 2014 Scarefest

Alice: madness returns pc game is the music. Thank you for this, very quick answer :) Whats the lighting like this year? The lighting is great, the pathways between Mutiny Bay, Katanga Canyon and Gloomy Wood being the best. The whole park has a brilliant atmosphere this year - scare actors on Tower...

Re: 2014 Scarefestc

Hey Guys, I know I don't post a lot on here, but currently at Splash for our second night, loving Scarefest 2014. Having visited in 2010, 2012 and 2013, I can confidently say I have been most impressed with this year! Even an improvement on 2010, which was a great year :) Scary Tales is fantastic, a...

Re: What Element of a ride do you like the most?

Saw's inside drop. nuff said. 100% agree. Pre-drops are great, Saw and Nemesis Inferno have got great versions of these :) Also, I love that little "dip" on Nemesis' first drop, just before the first inversion, the extra speed you gain sends you through the rest of the course at fantastic...

Re: Enchanted Village - Coming in 2015

I'm really hoping that the lodges are the same amount of money as a hotel room! Probably not knowing Merlin  I don't even want to start on that subject xD I wouldn't expect these lodges to be the same price as hotel rooms. They have already been confirmed to hold 5-8 people, which will raise ...

Re: Enchanted Village - Coming in 2015

The lodges will sleep 5 people, whilst the luxury treehouses are 8 berth. Thank you for this :) I also hope that no fairy tales are used to market the accommodation. Alton Towers have two great themes for their existing hotels, they don't need a fairy tale, the Enchanted Village is perfectly suited...

Re: Enchanted Village - Coming in 2015

And hey, they have hot tubs, you can't beat a nice hot tub! I thought this was a fantastic idea too! Now I hope the rooms can be booked for more than 4 adults! I've been hoping for some more accommodation that can cater for bigger groups :) I would have thought the rooms with hot tubs (if the conce...

Re: Alton Towers: Merlin's 'flagship' park?

I think Merlin have a clever marketing strategy in not having a "flagship" park. Merlin carefully markets its resort theme parks, midway attractions and Legoland as separate entities. I think this method works well for them, especially given the location of their attractions. We could say ...

Re: Enchanted Village - Coming in 2015

I understand people's concerns about cheaper accommodation; however, the existing hotels always have a good occupancy year-round, especially thriving in summer, Scarefest, Christmas and Easter. I've always been excited about a more 'luxury' accommodation option and I think this is the perfect answer...
