Re: What do you wear when you go to a theme park

When I was much younger I used to be really geeky and wear shirts from other theme parks - these days it's usually shorts and t's - though I always tend to bring a spare set in case I get drenched on the water rides. A friend of mine once did a day at AT in full drag - very liberating apparently!

Re: X Sector Refurbishment

Just looking at those last photos and I really can't believe how awful Oblivion looked before the repaint!!! Also I agree with those who say the pipes should be black as they originally where.  Really can't wait to get into x sector this year and see exactly what has been done. Couldn't agree ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

First post on here in an age!

Just a passing thought, the 'washing machine' section, if that's what it is - could be the 'Correction Section' or 'Innoculation Station'

Well, what can I say. I rode this abomination creation today for the first time - after eventually being allowed on. For some ridiculous reason, the Family Friendly Time was in operation today, despite the park hardly being busy with the kids back at school, so between 10am and 3pm I couldn't go on ...

Wow! What an advert! I do like the new Thorpe Park logo at the end there, shame they are not going to use that as the main one for the park!

Reading the new diary section on the website, it reinforces my views (and those that people have mentioned) that the logo is looking too futuristic. I mean when you have got an old-style american raceway themeing to the ride, a logo like that is going to look out of place. Still, I am damn looking f...

I rode it a few times on a visit to Florida last year - it has to be the best simulator ride I have been on. The sense of realism is fantastic and the images used on the displays are superb. It is done with a centrifuge but at no point did I ever feel I was spinning. A friend of mine however did mak...

Oh I know what you mean - I'm not saying that the theming at AT is bad, but you cannot compare it to a Disney theme park, its like apples and oranges. I look forward to seeing the new pics Liam, if you haven't been before you are going to love the place! I am jealous you are going there for Xmas! :D

I too will (fingers crossed) be riding this in May, providing that it is complete in time! I was in Florida last year when they started contruction and the area it is set in is huge, not to mention the teaser pics were very good. Here's hoping it doesn't suck!

I personally can't wait for this one, as I love the one in Florida - the multi-drop/launch element is superb! The only thing that may detract from the whole experience here would be the French dialogue. :D
