Re: Ideas & Suggestions

TowersTimes Karaoke? Now that’s an idea so hideous it might just work.

Plans for Summer Festival are underway so it’s definitely something we’ll consider. :)

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I actually really liked the VR, when it worked. Though the headset was a little heavy and cumbersome.  I won't miss the absolutely awful throughput though so this is a vast improvement for the ride itself. I would expect to see some updates when the park opens for the season as they'll have to swap ...

Re: Alton Towers Stargazing Pods - Opening April 12th 2019

I would hope the prices come down as the quality of the product just isn’t that high. There’s a lot of niggles like the lack of pathways to each pod, surely a delight when it’s raining and you need a wee, plus the absolute lack of any space to store anything. Even the coat rack covers the light swit...

Re: General Forum Discussion

Avatar Update I've been poking around with the  server  to find what's been going on with Avatars, and to keep it simple, it will not be an easy or quick fix. So for now I have had to take the difficult decision to temporarily remove the avatar upload facility. You still have the  ability  to use a...

Those costumes are really something. I’m not sure how to describe them on here without violating the bad word filter. :/

Re: Project 2020

You're all reading far too much into it :P.  There are absolutely no new rides planned for 2019, so this has to relate to the series of events the park has been teasing since before Christmas. As for the 2020 project, there hasn't been a planning application so I think we can be sure at this point t...

Re: Colossus

Colossus is one of those rides that really got me into theme parks and general geekery. That being said, I have no real love for the ride as it's turned into a rather unpleasant experience all round. The ride also used to look pretty spectacular but as the years has passed and the park has failed to...

Re: General Forum Discussion

We are aware of something strange happening with avatars at the moment.

It seems to be linked to Android/Chrome in some way and might be related to a recent change to enable SSL across the forum.

TLDR: Avatars are broken, we are working on it. :)

Re: Project 2020

IAC's closure isn't related to this project, the park are planning something else for that space in the immediate future. Timber Tug Boat, Rocky Express and Lumber Jump are all expected to be open throughout 2019 too. The one thing to bear in mind for this project with planning, all previous coaster...

Re: I'm a Celebrity! Get Me Out Of Here

I’m really not going to miss this at all. It was highly themed and fun for the first year but it was not ‘rerideable’ in any sense. I don’t think a theme park was the best place for it as the target audience didn’t seem all that enthused. Maybe putting it at a Madame Tussaud’s would have been better...

Re: Fireworks

Oh I love the tech pictures! They've got some serious gear. Where exactly are they parked this year? It’s in roughly the same place as last year. Off to the left (when facing the towers) of the lawns. Nestled into the trees so it’s not distracting from the view. I had great fun looking around the c...

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

The smoke shouldn't be behaving like that. It's not supposed to leave the wicker wall on the other side of the station.

I would surmise this is why you don't see the effect on very often.

Re: Wicker Man General Discussion

It's not just Wicker Man that has that 'issue' with the chain lift, a fair few GCI's have a strange rocking motion from time to time. I wouldn't think it's anything to be concerned about.  One thing that was mentioned in the presentation was some slight changes have been made in the last couple of w...

Re: TowersTimes' Summer Festival - 4th August 2018 - Discussion

How are standard passholders going to gain entry to the park? The option to buy tickets for the restriction dates have been removed from the website and they're saying on Facebook that there's no booking option for this date. Just to reassure you, we've got an agreement with Alton Towers that purch...

Re: Dreamworld Australia

Wow. I’m not sure there’s any words to cover how shocking that is. The company has already replaced its CEO (with a generous payout) and is in the process of recruiting a new park manager, but I don’t think that goes far enough given the findings. Something like that is deeply rooted into a companie...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019?

I’m really conflicted about this. I do really enjoy The Dungeons, but unless they go to significant effort to integrate it with the history of the park and surrounding area then I fear it will feel out of place. Let’s clear up a few rumours to start with though. This is certainly not something for S...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

Ha. Terror or The Towers will be here. As it always is. Every year, everyone says it's time for it to go. It never does. :lol Aside from the fact that as of yet there’s no indication of it returning? All the other mazes have visible signs of construction and ToTT has nothing. I’d love to be wrong a...

Re: The Future of Nemesis Sub-Terra

I think it would be safe to assume that whatever is going on is not to reopen the attraction.

Something for Scarefest is far more likely given that Terror of The Towers is probably not going to return.

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

That’s much more like it!

I’m not sure anyone really minds Duel, Rapids and Runaway Train opening later, as they never really draw a queue.

Hopefully this extends beyond May half term.

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

If this is correct (Naughty Mr Walliams for leaking it) then it’s an unexpectedly brilliant IP to have. As long as the project quality is done to the same standard as CBeebies Land and Wicker Man then it could be an awesome addition. Ideally they would also add another high thrill attraction to go w...
