Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

This looks fantastic, kinda makes Thirteen look like the Beastie though!....

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

Just to expand on the idea I had about this ride being based around discovering the creatures nest, this was the concept I had in mind: http://oi44.tinypic.com/2v9rk8i.jpg I'm aware that the ride is most likely not going to be a drop tower but if it were, this would be a unique way of going about it...

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

I'd quite like to see this ride themed around a nest the Nemsis monster created before it was discovered, wouldn't be too hard to pull off and there'd be lots of creative possibilities....

Just hope this ride lives up to the hype Alton Towers will undoubtedly create...

Re: Changes, and thoughts for the future.

The first thing Alton should be sorting out is the empty Black Hole tent and the rest of X-Sector...

I still can't believe that despite all the wonderful new developments the park has built since the Black Holes closure 6 years ago, they still neglect the most dilapidated area of the park....

Re: A Realistic Enterprise Leaving Date!

If Enterprise does go I don't think they'll replace it with anything, simply fill the hole in and put a seating area and an ice cream stand on it or something...

The park doesn't seem to have time for flat rides anymore..

Re: The Flume --- Future

Intamin Aquatrax uses a launch. Rita uses a launch, I think with Alton Towers already having a launch coaster the possibility of having another at all is low Because the ride would undoubtedly be aimed primarily at families, the launch would be nowhere near as powerful as Rita so I don't think this...

Re: 2012: New Attractions

I don't see why we couldn't expect a Black Hole replacement and something in the old ice show tent seeing as both would be relatively inexpensive...

I would probably prioritise a Black Hole replacement and X-Sector clean up over anything atm though...

Re: The Flume --- Future

A well themed Aquatrax would be an excellent replacement for the Flume IMO...

If not that, then maybe a Mack water coaster although that would take up more room...

I would still prefer a form of cheaper accommodation over a hotel extension (i.e Log cabins..)...

Re: Funky new Eurofighter for Fuji-Q

The park does need another coaster just to soak up some of the queues from the others...

They'll still find a way to halve the rides hourly capacity somehow though...

Re: Black Hole's Replacement

A Mack E-Motion coaster with a vertical lift (Similar to Reaper ) and loads of effects would be the best option IMO... If not that, a small Eurofighter would work well but I don't think anything with a conventional lift system would work due to the lack of space. Why the park decided to get rid of t...

Re: Alton Towers: 10 Year Plan Revealed!

Alton Towers really need to set some sort of finacial structure for future investment over the next decade or so like Tussauds did in the 90's... I was pleased to read that Alton Towers had come up with this 10-year plan for the resort, but when it comes down to it, the plan is nothing more than a v...

Re: Fastrack, Website, ERT & Brochures 2011

This website is a massive improvement on the previous one...

Much more professional, much easier to navigate around with a slight hint of magic! I really like the effects used around the logo at the beggining of the videos aswell...

Best website yet IMO...

Question 1 - How did you get involved with the development of Megafobia at Oakwood?

Question 2 - Do you feel Oblivion is in need of some TLC?

Re: Fuji Q Highland Trip Report

Is that that annoying music that goes "Do-Don-PA! Do-Don-PA!" just over and over? I've seen a video of it. That's the one lol. Luckily it was only played in the outside queueline, I don't think I could have put up with it for much longer than that!... I'm surprised you didn't rave about E...

Re: Fuji Q Highland Trip Report

Were the queues just full or was it down to diabolical throughput/operations? Both! Dodonpa was always going to have pretty lousy throughput with a maximum of 8 people on each train, Eejanaika had 1 train being despatched every 5-10mins despite having massive queues as did Fujiyama... The queues th...

Re: The 'Duel in the Crown' Project

I like the principle of this idea you've come up with Sam, although I feel the problem with Duel is more to do with how the ride is set up than the lack of theming... Enthusiasts having to opportunity to help clean up the park during the closed season would be good though, and save the park a bit of...

Re: Official Oakwood Thread!

Oakwood is a good park but it's clear Aspro intend to rape it financially for all it's worth... The most frustrating habbit the park has taken to recently is running Megaphobia on one train on even the busiest of days, resulting in a frustratingly slow moving queue. I have to say though the park has...
