Re: Map for The Gardens

I think it's a good idea, i would have thought that a lot of people choose not to walk around the gardens for fear of getting lost and wasting valuable ride time, especially if they've payed full price to get into the park. :)

I think this is a good thing for Alton to do as it's win win for everybody really. :)

Re: Your Dream AT Merchandise

I would like a little model of one of the rides, big enough to see all of the ride, but not massive. However, i realise that this would never happen as the demand for them would probably be too low for the price Alton would have to pay to make them.

Re: Euro Disney

The thing is though, people moan that Thorpe has nothing for families, yet people say that Alton is too family orientated. So you can't win really. Alton are just aiming for that market.

Re: Quick Questions 2010

Don't know if it happens on any other rides, but why is Nemesis' back row sometimes blocked off, is it for people with disabled wristbands?

Re: Front Row

I actually prefer Oblivion on the back row, i find it feels like i'm being dragged/pulled over the top, which is good. I also like the fact that you are a bit higher up on the track. I like the front row on Rita and Nemesis because the views are amazing on both, and i like the very back row on Air b...

Re: Duel: General Discussion

Yesterday staff stopped the ride for a good 10 minutes while they were lighting up an area of track in the station with a torch and looked very puzzled for a while. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Does this happen a lot?

Re: Park visit poll?

I agree with what people have said above, is it worth a 2 and a half hour drive to you? But if it was me, i would either get the drink container from another park (if possible) or wait and see what the ride availability is looking like around the time that you plan on visiting. But at the end of the...

Does anyone know if you can get into Fright Nights at Thorpe Park with a Merlin Annual Pass? Is it £5 to enter with a pass? Thanks. :)

Re: Quick Questions 2010

Merlin Annual Passholders can get unlimited soft drink refills all year at Alton Towers, LEGOLAND Windsor, Chessington and THORPE PARK for £10. Purchase from the Coca Cola capsule sale points or the Annual Pass office. Thanks. So are they just like the normal refilable soft drink cups but for annua...

Re: Celebrities at Alton Towers Resort

If that picture above is how it looks, and 5 'normal' folk were prevented from boarding because of the Almighty Katie Price and her entourage, I am frankly spitting mad at Alton Towers. Absolutely revolting, pandering to such pond life at the expense of equally paying customers. What does she/they ...

Re: Stealth!

I always forget how much i enjoy Stealth until i go on it again. Theres no dought that it's a good ride, but the reliability is a joke - especially if you've travelled for 2 hours to get there. What exactly were the original plans for Stealth as i have never heard of them? Or does anyone have any pi...

Re: The Future of The Flume

I think The Flume's current track layout is perfect for the target audience and the area, i agree that it desperately needs a clean up in terms of theming and in general, but on the whole i think the park has areas more in need of a change.

What year is The Flume losing it's current sponsor?

Re: 2010: Sonic Spinball

Well that's what they want-"Come ride our new ride and an old ride we tarted up!" or "Come and ride our two new rides!" What sounds better? I just think that apart from some pictures being added and a name change, it's along the same lines as giving Oblivion a lick of paint and ...

Re: 2010: Sonic Spinball

I'm not suprised by Alton's decision to put Sonic Spinball on the park map as 'new for 2010'. While i am fully aware that it is a change in theming (and a general tidy up), it should not be advertised on the park map in the same way that a completely new attraction would be. For instance, a person t...

Re: Original abandoned Oblivion plans

The drop on these plans starts to even off before the ride goes underground, this would of had much less effect on onlookers as it would not have appeared that riders continued to plummet underground.
