Re: Welcome to the new forums!

Have to say - I'm not the biggest fan of the redesign... Whilst I don't post on here much anymore I do still read the forum on occasion, and for me the redesign is just too 'blocky'. A few constructive points: - The top menu bar (on both the site and forums) just looks a tad bland - whilst I can see...

Re: Towers' Pricing

Hmmm, Waterpark "On the Day" ticket prices are blank - expect these to go up too maybe they are updating the page  http://www.altontowers.com/tickets/#Waterpark As if by magic, the following has also appeared on that page: To visit Alton Towers Waterpark, tickets must be booked in ad...

Re: Europa-Park: Trip Planning, Questions and Advice!

Direct link to UK version of voyages-sncf.com: www.tgv-europe.com - seems to be connected to the exact same database price-wise, just different language! :)

IGNORE it when it tries to redirect you to Raileasy though - they are rip-off merchants as previously mentioned! :)

Re: Off Peak Closure of SkyRide and Other Cuts

I can't speak on their behalf, but I imagine this change in policy will make the park a no-go attraction for guests in wheelchairs. I know it's not from a wheelchair guest's perspective, but more from a mildly disabled person perspective (for those who don't know - I have a slight natural limp due ...

Merlin can't win.

Yes they can - by realising that Towers is the premier park in their UK portfolio and fund it as such - rather than cutting every last corner they can. :)

Edit: Appears I replied to an old post, but my point still stands!

Re: Negativity

Blizzard, might I also suggest leading a campaign against one side of a two-sided debate (i.e. your idea for a sig campaign against negativity) without contributing to the debate yourself would make you seem like a 'troll' (I don't like that word!) - thus you suggesting that the negative people are ...

Re: New Cable-Car for London: "Emirates Air Line"

The gondolas look identical in size/shape to the Towers ones - wonder if they're going to bee brightly coloured to stick out a sore thumb like the ones at Towers are too? :P

No, breakfast is for hotel guests only :) (presumably due to capacity issues)

Will have to be struck off the 'maybe' list I'm afraid - too much uni work to do, and it's touch & go on the funds for it too :(

Getting up at 4am, and on a train to Stoke from Euston at 7am - oh wait, I do this EVERY time I visit Towers :(

Will be a bit easier from May thankfully :)

Re: Park Opening Hours 2012

I do not particularly think accusing Merlin of general "stiff handedness" with regards to budgetary information is particularly helpful at the moment, given that much of this we have no "actual" proof of. Let's not talk about Disney, Europa or anyone else - let's just focus on t...

Have had to pull out of this one due to a clash with another short-notice commitment :-(

Looks like Swarm will have to wait until a bit later in the season for me!

Hollie, if you're concerned about being able to comfortably get in and secure the Air test seat, pretend you're doing it just for a photo opportunity! That way, no-one will think anything the wiser either way :)

Re: TTF Euro Coaster Poll 2011-12: THE FINAL! VOTE NOW!

For a final, this was fairly easy for me to rank (it helps that I've viewed POVs for all coasters here when voting in previous rounds - bear in mind I haven't been on any of these personally, so am basing it on these and amount of hype alone :P) 1. Blue Fire - So smooth, apart from that last element...

As stated by Sam in another topic on here, Towers have officially confirmed they are NOT part of the Workfare scheme, as thus I highly doubt any other Merlin park is either. :)
