Re: Rude staff!?!?!?

As I say, she was quite snappy about it. However, previously she's always been brilliant - so I think that there must be days where you do just get fed up with it all. Sadly that is a bye product of working with the general public. I think the younger you are the more you let it get to you while th...

Re: Bored this Summer? How about another price rise!

Personally I think a lot of the price increase is down to the bogof vouchers being dished out like confetti. If you have say 80% of the guests in the park using them then you have a fair few paying just £18.50 to get in. All the extra guests means more staff and rides being run at full whack, all of...

Re: Car Park Charge rises 25% for 2009.

sorry if this has been mentioned had a very quick look and didn't see anything but.... Express parking is now £15 how disgusting is that and scores of stupid people are still paying it... That is appalling and there can be no justification for it at all. I thought that $15 at SF Great Adventure was...

Re: Wooden Inversions?

^You need to go on woodies like Raven, The Voyage and El Toro and then you will see just what modern woodies can do.

Those 3 rides are mind blowing, especially The Voyage with its 90 degree banked turns.

Re: Alton Towers - Parking (Part 2)

On one of our visits in April there was a huge block at the barriers of the car park for what turned out to be a broken down car on the exit road. Rather than queue up for ages I diverted out of the bottom end of the car park and through the hotel car park. On the way out towards the traffic lights ...

Re: Alton Towers Staff

Wow thats three topics you've managed to mention you worked at AT for 07/08, good going now if only you could make a topic in the archive section the world would be a better place. I would say that comment is a bit uncalled for. From what I can see Bicko has only added his knowledge to the other to...

Re: Wooden Inversions?

I think SoB's Loop was removed because of the sheer weight of the trains was rattling the support structures apart. That is not far off the mark. The loop was taken out as the premier rides trains were ripping the structure to bits with the weight of them. Kings Island purchased the original Gertsl...

Re: Pilgrim's Plunge at Holiday World - INSANE new Intamin ride

As has been mentioned by Khanage above (thanks for doing a better job than I would have by the way) I did have a couple of goes on Pilgrims Plunge while we were at Holiday World. It is a really great water ride and has one great advantage over the UK's tallest one at Oakwood. You can ride it without...

Re: Rita

After going TTD at Cedar Point both Rita and Stealth will just not feel the same at all. The way I treat Rita is that it is just a fun ride and nothing more, it is not the worst ride at Alton Towers by a long way but it is not up to Nemesis standards either. My biggest issue with Rita and Stealth ar...

Re: Blackpool Pleasure Beach - 17th June

Thanks for sharing. The way that PMBO has sand bags is just horrid. It makes PBB look like a completely amateur park. The ride should running with full trains if the station is half full. Still, it's not like it's a great ride anyway. :) It was really annoying with the sandbags today. 4 times on th...

Blackpool Pleasure Beach - 17th June

WHO WENT Just me! Park Hours 10:30-17:00 Today was a day off due to time owed to me at work so I thought it only right to make my second and long overdue visit to BPB this season. The forecast was grim and this time it proved to be right as it rained all day long, it was dry for 15 mins mid afternoo...

Oakwood 14/6/09

After the humilating defeat of Wigan RL at Bridgend last night we went to Oakwood today in the hope of salvaging the weekend. So did we manage to do so? For the most part yes but in some ways no as you will read below. The park was open 10-5 and we did all but the last hour as by then we had run our...

Re: Furie hits up the US East Coast - Epic report!

Great TR so far.

Shame Kingda Ka was shut for you as well :(

I know what you mean with your review of El Toro, the ride is awesome, but it does not feel like a woodie at all. In some ways it takes away from the ride, but after The Voyage it is the 2nd best woodie for me.

Re: PBB - 2009 Discussion

The Big Dipper is closed during the week, hence RollerCoaster is open. However, the Big Dipper will be brought back into use for the weekends, its been suggested RollerCoaster will sit the weekends out (seems like madness to me) but I'll know for sure by Sunday! I believe RollerCoasters safty certi...

Re: Holiday World 20/5 & 21/5

I have read all your reports, but will post here. A sensational looking trip, and one I can only dream of being able to do at the moment! Lots of amazing rides, and good weather too. Just shows though, when you get to parks and see things like Kingda Ka shut... well that'd be a bit of a travesty! A...

Dorney park - 29/5 to 30/5

So onto the final park of our USA tour. In truth we only really did this park as we could get in with our Cedar Fair passes and it was pretty near to Newark Airport for the journey back home. Dorney Park turned out to be the tale of two parks. On Friday it was hell on earth and most possibly the wor...

Cedar Point - 24/5 to 28/5

After the slight letdown of Kings Island it was nice to be going back to Cedar Point. With it being Memorial weekend we wondered what it may be like with regards to the lines in the park. But we choose to go with CP for the holiday weekend with it having such amazing ride capacity. In the end ride c...

Kings Island 22/5 & 23/5

Kings Island turned out to be a bit of a let down of a park and Diamondback being the biggest letdown of a ride after all the rave reviews I had heard about the ride. More about that later. Being next to such a large area Kings Island has a reputation of being a busy park and on both days this turne...
