They are purple, you can tell when you look at them first hand. I think it must just have been yesterdays grim weather.

Re: SW6 Construction Part Two

Also, can we not identify the ride type yet, assuming it isn't a prototype? What Intamins use box supports? Intamin seem to be pushing a lot of new designs recently, such as the new water ride for Cedar Point, it is a combination between a reversing boat ride and a splash down. So therefore, we don...

Re: Air- Refurb Needed?

It certainly is one of AT most unreliable rides, that said though, that is due to the fact that it is a prototype and since then B&M have made more and more Flying Coasters, and the technology is tried and tested. I don't think a total refurbishment is needed, but certainly an upgrade of some of...

Re: Alton Towers Getting Too Expensive?

A short article on TT News showing the price rises. Some ticket types have gone up by 25% or more since March 2008...! Hotel Stay - Sunday/Monday

Me and some mates are going to AT on Sunday, staying the night at Splash Landings, and having another day at AT before leaving on the night. We want to get as much riding in as possible, whilst still visiting the water park. What do you guys think would be best/cheapest option on how/when to visit t...

Re: Anything Similar To Rita?

Both rides would have been designed and ordered at the same time, saving Tussauds money.

That's why we had Rita in 2005, Stealth in 2006 and desert race in 2007. All part of a triple deal from Intamin. :)

And the reason why it isn't a high risk resort is because for the security used. :)

The security teams really do a good job from the experiences I have had with them :)

Re: Charity Event.. do u think Alton Towers will help?

I think that's a fantastic idea, and good luck to you! As for doing it, I not sure if they would allow it, however if they do, it will likely have to be on a weekend where the park is going to be as quiet as possible. Also, If Alton Cooperate, its not always a certainty that other Merlin Attractions...

Maybe just checking it over very thoroughly to ensure that no debris had fallen into the ride. Or the launch system.

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Skyride station fire (Live Updates)

If the cable would indeed snap, I can guarantee that it will be supported by the next column. It will have built in redundancies so if indeed it did snap, it wouldn't cause park wide disaster.

And like Kaz said, them cables could smash a few things, kill a few plants, but no huge damage.

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Skyride station fire (Live Updates)

I the park was open, it wouldn't have got that bad. A fire extinguisher would have it dealt with in minutes. ;)

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Skyride station fire (Live Updates)

Yes but lat year, It happened when te park was open. Atleast then people could see it and it was dealt with immediately. Now with the park being empty, it would take some time before people were alerted to the fire.

Re: Fire at Alton Towers (Live Updates)

The Sky Ride is currently unavailable.

That was quick!

With two stations gone up in flames in as many years, would it me Towers Street station with all the gondolas next time?

Fate don't like cable cars!
