Re: FastTrack: Was it ever free?

I don't think its necessarily a conspiracy, but certainly the introduction of Fastrack has reduced the capacity of the main queue on existing rides. Oblivion is probably the best example of this - I remember when the only guests that could legitimately queue jump were Hotel Guests who received prior...

Re: The Smiler - Marketing [May Contain Spoilers]

I've seen it during both How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men, plus the first report of it on TST was during Frasier this morning.

Seems they're targeting US Sitcoms :)

Re: The Smiler - Construction Discussion

Quick note to all the people saying its not connected properly - look closely... Its still on the crane and hasn't been bolted on, so whilst the image gives an idea of what the track will look like when in place, said image is actually showing them lining it up. Bloody hell some people have no faith...

Re: Facebook status's that really drive you nuts

I had a "friend" a while back that was moaning because he had to get up early to cash his pay cheque  Anybody that is STILL Moaning about timeline. The Same guy as the first example put out a status once saying "Does anybody know if there's ticket inspectors on the Metro today?&q...

Re: The 'I Feel Down' Topic

I applied for a job last week and was accepted for interview, they hired me that night. I had an hours training and signed my Contract last thursday before having a trial shift the next day that went pretty well. The manager said he'd call me this week to sort out shifts, but instead called today to...

Re: The death of the (remaining) magic

The key problem is a lack of reinvestment, I cant believe that it's taken this long for me to bring this up, but recently the former Chairman (he stood down last year) of Merlin and previously Tussauds came in to give a guest lecture to my Uni. He claims that when he took control of the company in 2...

Re: Guilty Pleasures...Secret Things to do at the Towers

I Put my iPod in during Duel and sync up all of the Haunted House music to play in the right places. I don't do it every time, for example sometimes i'd rather shoot, but if i'm looking for the old HH experience just stick on the music at a volume thats loud enough to drown out the Duel music but no...

Re: Voting 2012

Didn't get a chance to vote as my halls never go any application forms, not to mention i'm snowed under with 3 assignments due next week. I can't honestly say who I would vote for had I been given the chance as i've not really studied any of their manifestos. I'm a liberal by nature, but have comple...

Re: Angry Bird land Finland

SEGA had numerous theme parks (well, OK, Interactive Entertainment Centre's) during the mid 90s, but only a few such as SEGA Republic in Dubai and Joypolis in Tokyo still remain. Some of you younger Sega fans may not remember, but they also had an indoor theme park in London for a few years in the m...

Re: The 'I Feel Down' Topic

I think its very possible for a negative event to make a positive change in the long run. Whilst I don't know what your circumstances are, if they are sensitive then feel no pressure to be any more open than you feel comfortable with. I sadly from experience can digress the sharp shock from a negati...

Re: SPOILERS - 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra...

Correct me if i'm wrong, but from the looks of things that's not a picture from in Sub Tera but of the "kitchen" area under Nemmy's station that has been hidden from view for as long as I can remember. Looks cool either way :D

Re: 2012: Nemesis Sub-Terra... Part 2

That's awesome news, anybody like to hint at what it looks like (if they know)?

Also, is it just Sub Tera or the whole of Forbidden Valley excluding Air? I do recall Valley staff having themed uniforms circa 1997 as they can be seen in the Magic Factory :)

Improve timekeeping, particularly when I go to bed and wake up.

Completely stop worrying about what others think of me and completely be myself rather than hiding behind cynicism.

Re: RCT Retirement

Odd, I used RCT on Windows 7 pretty much since it came out and never had any problems, unless it is later versions of W7 RCT doesn't like.

Still, ironically I've got a Mac now, so RCT won't work at all. IIRC there is a Mac version of RCT3, but then it raises the issue of if it will work with Lion :?

Re: Apple's most-downloaded iTunes songs of all time.

Yes, in my opinion a great deal of that is utter tripe, but sadly its just the way popular culture is at the minute, the way I stay sane is to keep telling myself what goes around comes around as far as tastes are concerned. Its my opinion and many others would agree that current "mainstream&qu...

Re: 2012: New Attractions

Simply by looking at the first notice on this supposed information sign we can confirm one of two things. 1) Torps is talking utter bull and this is a mock photoshop job from somebody who has far too much time on their hands. OR 2) The Ride is not going to be an Extremis style drop tower but someth...

Re: Say Something Negative About Nemesis

- The queue is a shadow of its former self because of Fast Track
- The voice modulator in the station needs fixing to improve those god awful announcements
- It has no merchandise and before the all time greats poll didn't get as much love from the park as, say, Rita and Thirteen.

Re: Strange question - Can G force cause inflamation?

Heavy positive G forces if prolonged can cause blood to pool at the extremities, hence why pilots wear G suits, but I can't imagine any of the rides at Alton have forces that act long enough to cause any problems to riders. Either it's a personal circulation problem or completely unrelated to the r...
