Re: Size restrictions on Air

My experiences at Alton:

Nemesis is fine for me on any row.
Oblivion is ok only in the Big Boy seat.
Air is fine if I have nothing in my pockets... (size of legs make the harness not lock in)
Thirteen is fine.
Rita - depends on the length of seatbelt...
RMT - fine
Spinball - no go :(

Re: 2012: Nemesis - What Lies Beneath... Part 2

I don't see why people are being so negative. This project is better than no investment, or just leaving the lava lump there. I've been at the London Dungeons today, and Extremis is a good ride. The drop is forceful, and you can not compare it to a frog hopper. If the ride at Alton turns out to be a...

My source is the same as the person who told me about the Shrek 4D plan.

Re: Oakwood Theme Park - 17th July 2011

I was at Oakwood at the end of June. A few observations by me: 1) Spooky 3D had glasses a few weeks ago. (Not that they made any difference at all). 2) Waterfall was also closed on my visit, with the same rides on rotation. 3) I agree with all your comments... except IMO Drenched/Hydro is a lot wett...

Re: Amy Winehouse has Died....

Judging on her history, I'd say a drug overdose is likely.

Either that or she choked on her vomit whilst asleep.

Re: Amy Winehouse has Died....

I feel sorry for the family... but let's be brutally honest, and not beat about the bush. She was a drug and alcohol addict. If you abuse your body so seriously, in the end you will get your downfall. Personally, I did not like her music, so I am not feeling all upset. In fact I am irked that it has...

Wait a week or so. A new MacBook Air with better specs will be launching with OS X Lion.

Worse time to buy on at the moment.

Re: Trip Report - Saturday 18th June

1. Rita had a huge queue because some nutter climbed on the lift hill. 2 Hours and a bit more it took! 2. Did you see Shawn Sanbrooke on The Mine Train Photos?! 3. Yes, I also noticed the large Queues to get out the car park. 1) Not sure how likely this is... Was fine up till 4pm, then we were in t...

Re: SkyRide Closure

All I'd like to add, is that currently, with the Skyride down, and also the X-Sector / Spinball path closed, traffic is 3x heavier past Battle Galleons... so it might be a bit of a scrum there tomorrow!

Trip Report - Saturday 18th June

This was my first trip to Towers since 2009, so I had a lot to catch up on! Alton did not disappoint. I got to the park for about 8.30, and bumped into John (Duckman) at the entrance, so we decided to wander round together for the day. Got into the park bang on 9 and were in the valley at 9.07 and t...

One other thing...

On Stormforce, why don't the boats drain? I got wetter from having to submerge my feet in water, than from the ride?

Drayton Manor 13th June 2011

Hi all, Just got back from a very quiet Drayton Manor. The park was a pleasant surprise for me, as it was the first visit I had made. Ride count: Drunken barrels x 2 Rapids x 1 Shooting thing x 1 Haunting x 1 Buffalo coaster x 1 Pirate ship x 1 Pirate adventure x 1 Chairlift x 2 Fail dragon hunt boa...

Re: Merlin Annual Pass - Price Increase

Inflation is 4.5%. Unless prices increase by 4.5% or more, in real terms, the price hasn't increased.

I guess we'll know tomorrow.

Re: Texas Giant Rehab

Six Flags have posted a video of a full test run. http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=586967776734&oid=65853440990&comments It is seriously flying over those hills and the overbank looks insane! I think Six Flags have really got something awesome here. Let's just hope we don't see it ...
