Re: Tayto Park

The plans for the new rollercoaster have been rejected. By complaints of noise by 4 local residents. This to me is very bad news I saw amarican adventure die due to a few locals not liking a theme park on there doorstep.

Re: SW8

That's a big hole. For a woody that's meant to be sat on pretty much ground level.

Re: SW8

Just been looking around and it seems that they is a massive general development order. That covers the flume site and all of katanga canyon. So we might never see a planning application. .

Re: What do you think should replace CCL?

I have always thought a Lego land would fit well..... would be for the next age group up from Cbeebies. Which is needed. And I don't think the IP would be to hard to get. Would not take much to put a Lego theme to the driving school. They is already a Lego 4d film. Some large in door areas for a pla...

Re: 2015 Rumours

I would of thought we would of got wind of this first. All seems possible I'm sure some one could confirm if the restaurant has been gutted. But if true it could be for a long thin flat ride. or means they are going to be working in the area next year.

Re: SW8

Alton will not be able to build a new water ride on the current flume site. With out a lot of work as all new water rides need a clean source of water. So I feel a new water ride will be built on another part of the park. Then I do think the current flume site will be use as a coaster site if that i...

Re: Fantasy Island in administration

That's my worry I can't see anyone really buying the rides. I think the coasters would go for scrap, and the flats at best might end up on the fair circuit, but not in England.

Fantasy Island in administration

This is sad news I hope they can sort it out or we will be losing another nice little park. I never got to do the coasters there as every time I have been they where shut.

Re: With news of Paramount - will development plans change?

I think most of you are looking the wrong way. Yes merlin parks I think will have to up there investment a bit. But PP will bring in a lot of people from outside the UK. I would like to see the figures for park asterix in Paris for the years after Disney opened. With Thorpe just down the road people...

Re: SW8

So if its something like a flume replacement or the cross valley or even on the car park all of which will need a lot of landscaping and ground work we could see it a lot earlier. For air i'm sure they had already started a lot of ground work before the start of the season. But have no idea when pla...

Re: SW8

I think planning would have to go in earlier than March. Sw7's Went in late December. As we all know that opened late, so I really think they will get it in earlier this time round. As for the stand up did John not say it was dropped because of the cost of having to dig a hole around the same size a...

Re: SW8

Have we had any info from alton towers saying they are even working on sw8? I remember we where told really early they was working on sw7. If it is going to open in 2016 like most people think, When do you think we will see planning going in? I'd say about end of October.

Re: SW8

the seats are in the same place as they are now so as long as the spinning arms are designed to take the same forces that should not be a problem real. The forces on the humans will be the same as the seats are in the same place. well just about because you will be different positions but you make s...

Re: SW8

yep but do they real need to be that far out you use the train as it is, but just take out the four middle seats of each and fit in the motor computers and the spinning arms it would be easy in the space they have got you just got to try and keep it in the weight limit of the track I'm sure they cou...

Re: SW8

if you use the wing rider trains that are on swarm yes. But think about it real could they be turned in to 4d trains themselves I think not. You get trains designed that would fit in the hole I said trains like a 4d train.
