Re: Size/Weight restrictions

I don't believe Nemesis has a test seat but the seats are almost identical to those on Oblivion. So if you head for Oblivion and everything’s ok then nemesis shouldn't be a problem either. Nemesis and oblivion seats look similar as they are both use osr's however fitting into them is a completely d...

Re: Size/Weight restrictions

Hi - I'm new here too! I also have a weight related questio. I've always been 'big' but have always fitted in fine to the seats. But the last year I have been ill and put on a lot of weight due to low activity and respiratory problems. Anyway I'm almost certain I am ok for the chest restrictions bu...

Re: Low Capacity ?

I think Towers are generally great at keeping capacity at its maximum most of the time. It's not that often Oblivion goes to single-shuttle operation, but when it does, the ride will have been walk-on. It wasnt walk on but I only waited 10 minutes which was absolutely fine seeing as it was school h...

Re: Low Capacity ?

Oblivion does run using only the front half of the station during quiet periods, if the staff feel that they can manage at half capacity, they will close the back half of the station and remove shuttles. I've seen in most often during winter weekends and weekdays outside of the school holidays, wou...

Re: Quick Questions 2009

Anyone know when the queue at the back of the nemesis pit was last used? The one behind the helix just before the loop. It looks pretty overgrown up there.

Low Capacity ?

One of the things I have always liked about Alton Towers is that they always seem to run their rides at high capacity regardless of the number of people in the park. So all of the coasters will have all of their trains in use regardless of the length of the queues. Obviously there are exceptions whe...

Re: Single Riders ??

last time I was at AT I went on Nemesis at about 5pm. The SRQ was down the steps and half way around the corner towards the Fastpass entrance. Main queue was 15 minutes. Madness to wait in the SRQ it couldnt have been less than an hour from the back.

Watch out though, on busy days the single rider queues can get longer than the main queue's

Re: Quick Questions 2009

1. Unfortunately I think that you can only use the fasttracks on the day of purchase as the staff check the dates I believe. 2.Rita's launch is really fun. It just feels like you are pinned back into your seat and its really exciting, it won't make you feel sick or anything, it's definitely recomme...

Re: Rita

I have always liked Rita. As Dave said, the ride was hyped a lot because it was a Quick Fix and the marketing at the time needed to get the RITA name out into the public domain as fast as possible. Ultimately though, Rita is a solid coaster that guests of the park love. :) Couldnt agree more. I lik...

Re: Ride Reliability

I am at Towers tomorrow, anyone know if Rita definitely reopened? It seemed to be having problems last Tues and Wed when I was there. They were forever getting that battery pack thing out to open the OSR's manually

Re: Queue Line Fiction ?

Spinball was not operating for wet weather conditions (three per car) on either of the occasions i mentioned. It was the first thing i looked for when i was told the queue time by the staff member. It was on full capacity from the minute i got in the queue til the minute i got on

Re: Quick Questions 2009

Thanks :P Told her that, she says it depends what she feels like on the day :P Right my next question:P On the AT website, it says Fast track scream is for Air, Nemesis and Oblivion. But if you go on the seperate ride pages, all the thrill rides say: "Beat the queues with Fastrack! * Fastrack ...

Re: Car Park Charge rises 25% for 2009.

sorry if this has been mentioned had a very quick look and didn't see anything but.... Express parking is now £15 how disgusting is that and scores of stupid people are still paying it... That is appalling and there can be no justification for it at all. I thought that $15 at SF Great Adventure was...

Which Front Row?

For those of you that queue a bit longer for the thrills of the front row, which do you prefer? My preference is: 1. Nemesis 2 Rita 3 Oblivion 4. Air (not really bothered) The unrestricted view on nemesis is awesome with a few 'leg chopper' moments while the launch on Ritas front row is also fantast...

Re: Size/Weight restrictions

Are they actively enforcing that weight limit again Kaycee, or is it just "the rules" post on the board? ;) I'm slightly concerned as I've always got on Spinball with no problems, but I'm a littttttle bit heavier than 17.5st! lol :D Been to towers about a dozen times this year and have be...

Re: Queue Line Fiction ?

The only rides that I am aware of where ride staff systematically inflate (that's basically a nice way of saying "lie" :P ) the queue time are Monorail at the end of the day and Spinball Whizzer at the start and end of the day. I can see the reasoning behind it but it's the guests that ha...

The end of fastrack?

There are several posts on this forum (mine included) that are praising the AT staff for their loading and dispatch times recently. IMO the staff seem to be making an extra effort to keep the queue lines moving and the waiting times down in the recent busy spell for the park. Could this be AT workin...
