Re: Rita "rough" - get a grip!

See, I have a dodgy Back so Rita is very uncomfortable in the bit passed Corkys station position. If I put my arms up around the corner, it punishes my Back. If I put my arms down thats ok, but then I get beaten to death. With T-Bars though, Rita would be fine. But its currently Ritarded. Would prob...

Re: SW6 Ride discussion Part 2

^Well any positive (or strong negative) G Forces in any direction, Lateral, Vertical, whatever is going to put stress on the track. The train is getting heavier the more +G's you wack around the corners. Bi, Tri or any track structure doesn't really make much difference, other than you can space sup...

Re: SW6 Construction

Yeah, I was very strong for Gerstslauer, but the signs are showing up now...

Image

..when I saw the Transfer track. So many similarities to another Intamin transfer.

EDIT: Dam! Someone beat me to it LOL

Re: SW6 Construction

I hate to say it, but the footers are very Gerstlauer alike...

Intamins have bolt fixings mounted into there footers for a support to be fixed to...this doesn't.

Re: SW6 Theme Discussion

I think AT can come up with another clever name tbh, If this is going to be themed well. "The Unknown" is a little weak really. Not like the powerful, clever names like Nemesis, Oblivion.

Re: SW6 Ride Discussion

I'd actually love the lift to have a LSM system on it. I've done Maverick, that lift is very exciting. Great fun :) And they only use vast amounts of power when in use. What a few seconds? The Intamin hydraulic launch uses vast amounts of power constantly. Its quite efficient really. Aslong as there...

Re: Alton Towers: 10 Year Plan Revealed!

The entrance is where we get our first impressions of the park. Right now its not far off perfect opening with that beautiful landscape. It wouldn't be right to move it.

Re: Air - Total Re-theme?

I actually think Air - Nemesis works really nicely. The only real thing I'd like to see is a better blend across. I.e Airs lift gets a rusty colour scheme that fades into the blue and undestroyed part of the valley. Its nice as it gives an idea of what the area would of looked like pre being destroy...

Re: THORPE PARK - Fright Nights pre book only...

I really doubt it will be the same for the first week...

They were just pushing 2,000 on the gate that afternoon I went in last year. Did all the mazes within an hour and 15 mins!

They would be missing out on many punters!

Re: SW6 Ride Discussion

Perilous Plunge I think that incident was on, back in 2001. If I remember rightly, the restraints were changed on it. The restraints are perfectly safe. They are moulded around the body shape. They have a backup lap seat belt anyway. Larger guests are more limited with this restraint though. And it ...

Re: Park Music and Videos

Just thinking, does anybody know where I could get the 2007 Royalty Free tracks that were used on Rita/Spinball and Nemesis?

I really quite liked them. Ive got Airs.

Re: SW6 Ride Discussion

If this is Intamin, it BETTER have T-Bars. Simple as.

Rita could do with them too. No more neck cutting. Now Corkscrew is gone, I wish they would sort out the track banking issues with Ritas second corner. The ride would be fine then.

Re: Thorpe Park: General Discussion 2009

The water needs treating as it would be the perfect temperature for bacteria to grow/live.

Re: Thorpe Park: General Discussion 2009

Its quite complicated. The water is filtered through chemicals and is heated to 30 degrees to give a better bloody feel.

I think its the best effect on the ride so I hope it returns.

Re: Thorpe Park: General Discussion 2009

Saws queue currently never goes over 60 - 70mins. Yesturday it was 60 at peak, 15 mins for the most. It was running very smoothly aswell and all effects bar the plaza sign and the water jets were working.

Re: SW6 Ride Discussion

I'd love that on the ride! I thought of a concept a few months ago like that! Dam, should of put faward ideas :D I personally can see this ride having a 45 degree tilt. I can see no more than that with the room issues. Plus effects can make that seem far steeper. It wouldn't need to be any higher th...

Re: Nemesis Inferno's Tunnel

I've seen in once with smoke instead of water. It was very thick (it covered the 0G area) and you couldn't see the walls of the tunnel. Very effective. It even smelt the part. One problem was that everybody was having a coughing fit exiting the tunnel and had been setting off smoke alarms. I don't t...

Re: Cost of Operating rides- per ride?

I know its a different park, but I know Stealth is £20 - £25 per launch, if thats any help. It uses around 945 KVA continuously. The wheels are VERY expensive and they get though a lot of them on the Intamins.

Re: Rita: Should AT should of took more time with it?

I personally think they shouldn't of bothered with Rita. It screwed a nice area and its probally going to make the new area wierd. Plus it was a complete bodge job. Last year talking with an engineer on Stealth, he says the two rides were ment to be one at Thorpe. Something to do with the local coun...
