Re: 2013 Season - General Discussion

I would get to the park early - aim to be arriving about 8.50am to then be able to catch the monorail over to the entrance (which will be running). If you want I would go in the box office and get smiler fastracks for later in the day, then start with The Flume, Katanga Canyon , Forbidden Valley et...

I read on Chessington Buzz that the 5m included Zufari and the other work around the park ie resturant upgrades aswell as theses 2 rides.

This is definitely not the case. Zufari alone cost upwards of this figure.

Re: NEW 2014

D4n's Wishlist - An extra show. Whether that be the return of the Ice Skating or otherwise. At the moment we just have Mutiny Bay Pirates in terms of entertainment and, if Adventure Land / The Farmyard is getting 'spruced up' or rethemed in the next couple of years then some live entertainment for ...

Re: Chessington's £5million upgrade

-They are spending the money rather than doing nothing They are spending the money because they have to, really. The old rockwork was condemned and Runaway Train and Dragon Falls both rely very heavily upon their theming, so to leave them completely bare would be to lower themselves to Gullivers st...

Re: Ride photo pickup charge.

The only problem with that is 4 of you have to buy a photo to get to see all 8 of you. Oblivion has two ORP points. One takes a photo of two people (going into the hole) and one takes a photo of the entire shuttle (coming out of the overbank), so all sixteen people on the ride feature on every ride...

Chessington's £5million upgrade

As you may or not already know, Chessington is having a £5 million upgrade over the next two years (seemingly in place of any new rides or attractions). So far, the Runaway Train has been closed all season, stripped bare of all of it's theming (the rockwork was reportedly condemned with regards to h...

This is very, very useful when deciding which park to visit on which day if you're willing to put time into studying it beforehand, and planning an itinerary.

Re: School Trip Queue Times

School trip season is, excluding Scarefest / Fireworks / Concert dates the busiest period of the entire season with some utterly insane wait times throughout pretty much every July weekday. Smiler will easily reach three hours on most occasions, and the other major coasters will no doubt peak betwee...

Pointless. I've already been on every ride several thousand times. :P

ERT on The Smiler would be a much better idea, I'd pay for that.

Re: Clash of themes in x sector

I don't believe that there is a clash of themes within X-Sector on account of The Smiler's introduction; in contrast, I feel that the Ministry of Joy ties things together quite nicely. Both The Smiler and Oblivion revolve around themes of experimentation, and we can now assume that both are operated...

Re: The Future Of Congo River Rapids

Valhalla in Blackpool certainly isn't suitable for the UK climate and definitely not a Blackpool climate but for some bizarre reason it works well judging by the queue for it. Valhalla still "works" because it's worth it . In that, not only is it the best water ride in the UK, but it's al...

Re: The Future Of Congo River Rapids

Congo River Rapids is an ideal example of Alton Towers at its magical best, leave the poor dear alone. :( If it was any wetter, it wouldn't be suitable for the UK climate and wouldn't be fun in March or October. It features excellent theming and interaction throughout and is very, very re-rideable a...

Re: The Future Of Twirling Toadstool

I want it to be relocated to dark forest with water squirters underneath the riders like at chessington (think it's called monkey swinger)... and dark forest needs some other sort of flat ride, and swinging chairs could be themed around a tree to fit in the area fine. Why would they move it back to...

Re: Thorpe Park Canada Creek Railway

The farm was closed because it was relatively unpopular and also because the park wanted to drain the land next to Colossus (for Saw - The Ride) and to do this they had to flood elsewhere instead, Thorpe Farm was the obvious location for this, though I believe that the majority of it is still above ...
