Re: Alton Towers App

To be picky, iOS is no longer the most used phone operating system in the UK. Android is. I think it'd be a bit silly not to develop an app for Android users - hopefully there is one in the works. I think it's possible they may have been a little misguided, though, and we won't be seeing an Android ...

Re: Black Hole's Replacement

As much as I'd love to see a Zamperla motocoaster at Towers, being a fan of the ride system. The throughput on Pony Express (and other models, I assume) is awful as a result of slow loading due to the restraint system - creating a queue in a park where there were otherwise no queues, for example. Co...

What's with all the catch fencing towards the end? :?

I'd expect there is a path underneath that bit and the safety netting is there to stop loose articles on riders potentially dropping below. :)

Re: Mack Watercoaster Replace The Flume ?

I honestly would have no qualms with Alton, 'simply' for once , just doing the blinding obvious which would be regenerating and retheming The Flume as it stands, sticking to a very cliched theme that would presumably be 'pirates'. Or in other words, be a bit on the boring side however deliver a soli...

Re: Rainbow Magicland: Coming 2011 to Rome!

This project, unfortunately, seems to be starting to scream [s:3a4oemp8]Hard Rock Park[/s:3a4oemp8] Freestyle Music Park. I certainly hope all that is temporary. I'd agree to say that it's probably due to budget issues. I hope they'll see sense to re-visit these areas and sort them out; when they ha...

Re: Heide Park: B&M "Krake" 2011

The theming as it stands looks very permanent. Points to suggest that this is the final product: ~ The mouth has a solid base and doesn't actually look large enough to take a train. ~ The ORP is currently placed at the base of the drop. ~ There is a water splash. ~ There are special effects around t...

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

I'd say they were about the same length relatively. Raptor: Drop -> Over Bank Turn -> 'Corkscrew' -> Air Time Hill, 270 turn into a 'Zero-G' -> S-Turn, to an extent into a In-Line Twist -> Drop, Turn -> Brakes LC12: Drop/Dive Loop -> 'Zero-G' -> Tilted Loop/360 turn -> 180 turn into a 'Zero-G' -> 18...

Re: Funky new Eurofighter for Fuji-Q

The only good thing about this Eurofighter.. Will be the Saw esque indoor section, if it's themed to a reasonable standard that is. If Hurrucan at Belantis is anything to go by, the rest of it will be awful. Shame really, it sound as if using the 2x3 shuttles on these new Eurofighters... Is only mak...

The Coasterforce rating system has become extinct, by the looks of things. Either that our they're revamping it, doesn't seem to be 'there' anymore. I don't really know of any other site that offers a that kind of thing...

Re: Walibi Holland 2011: Speed of Sound (rethemed boomerang)

EEEEK... suffovests. Maybe it's just me ... but I find them extremely uncomfortable and far too tight on the chest, somehow Vekoma have made one of the most comfortable type of restraint uncomfortable. :( Although a massive improvement head-banging wise. Theming looks as if it's going to be ...

Re: Automatic restraints.

All the Zamperla 'motocoasters' have automatically closing restraints. :) http://cache.rcdb.com/i2b4j2lh43vpg0063qmka5.jpg They use the same seating restraint as found on the Disko's. That's the only [type of] coaster, off the top of my head, that I know of that has automatically closing restraint. :)

Re: Mack Launched Coaster for SeaWorld California 2012?

Yes, both Rock 'n' Rollercoaster (1800 pph) and Space Mountain (based on guess work as Space Moutain has a greater throughput than RnR) have better throughput compared to Blue Fire's capacity of 1720 pph - that's still not bad though. Great to see a new Mack launched on the way though, although I'm ...
