Re: Captain Andy's Revue - Thorpe Park

Nope it wasn't bumper cars, a 20 min show with music and talking animals - thanks for the Sooty vid!

Thorpe Park Resort - The Past

Does anyone remeber this animatronic show at Thorpe?  It was in a tent like structure and was a music show with dogs and cats - I remember it tended to break down a lot!

Does anyone have any photos or videos as I've searched eveywhere and can't find any.

It was next to Cinema 180 or something...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

I actually thought they had some new signs with Imperial Leather added this year, perhaps they've just cleaned them up, they've cleaned the ride up pretty good, added some of the original music back and new lights. As our boat floated by the fair ground scene before the drop, I noticed all the imper...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

Just one question, I thought Bubbleworks had lost the sponsorship for this year, but having gone today it is still plastered with Imperial Leather signs...when does this agreement end?

Re: THORPE PARK 2010

Thanks for the comments people - fair points. I'm not anti thorpe, in fact I've been going there for the past 25 years or so and it holds dear memories for me (though most of the old rides I remember, are now gone) Perhaps I can explain my reasoning a bit more and the fact that I had a bad day is do...

Re: THORPE PARK 2010

I went to TP today too. Stayed an hour and came home! Worst day ever. I thought what with schools being back it would be fairly quite, given it also rained. But having arrived at 11am, the car park was almost full and we had queues of 60 min on Colossus and Saw, then 30 min on Nemesis and Saw Live (...

Who composed Professor Burps Bubbleworks music?

Having found all the original Bubbleworks music on youtube the other week and being able to listen to it in full you really get to appreciate how much effort went into composing and producing the music. In parts there seems to be a full orchestral score, others there is singing and of course it all ...

Re: Half price Annual Pass Thorpe Park only

Me and the Mrs renewed ours last week at Chessington for £75 each. We both got a letter quoting the offer and we could either buy on internet or on phone but of course when I phoned they said I would have to pick up from a park so we just did it at Chessington...when we got to the kiosk we just quot...

Burp's Breakdown Yesterday....and other questions

I was in the queue line for Bubbleworks yesterday when the loading belt stopped for about 10min, the flood lights came on, and the ride attendants walked into the ride probably to tell those on the boats what was happening, after about 5 min they put the lights on in the control booth and then it ap...

Chemical leak at Chessington today

Just got back from Chessington today where Mystic East and Forbidden Kingdom had been closed off due to an apparent chemical leak this morning. We left early so not sure if they opened later. I wonder whether this was due to something like a chlorine leak on Dragon Falls which would be used to clean...

Darkride Music technical query

Ok I'm going to be a bit geeky here, but it has always fascinated me how all the behind the scenes things work on rides, especially dark rides. I was wondering whether anyone knows how the music system works on Dark Rides. For example Bubbleworks, how are the music loops played? On CD on a loop? Com...
