Re: Chessington Incident - 7.05.2012

I agree the ride itself doesn't need to be, but I'm sure it'd raise questions to other visitors why a different entrance was being used.

Also it may be seen as offering a sign of respect.

Will be interesting to see how long it stays closed for though!

Re: Chessington Incident - 7.05.2012

The message on the Chessington site is now...

"Tomb Blaster will not be operating until further notice."

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

^ Any idea how are reports in terms of how smooth it is?

Doesn't matter how intense it is if it tries to kill you. (AKA Saw)

Re: Disneyland: General Discussion 2012

I think Cars Land has opened now, as a POV of Radiator Springs Racers has surfaced. It looks incredible. Didn't realise there was such a huge indoor dark ride section, which looks incredibly themed (even for Disney!) Would love to give this a try as I thoroughly enjoyed Test Track! http://www.youtub...

Re: Th13teen trimmed yet again?

I would have thought Intamin could have done a re-profiling to lead to the removal of the trims, similar to what happened at I305 to sort out the mess they made.

As much as I love Th13teen, it'd be a lot better with fewer trims.

Re: Chessington Incident - 7.05.2012

Never seen a backlash like this before, everyone is fuming, which is of course understandable. Hundreds of people coming out and saying they'll never visit the park again etc. But again, without knowing the whole story, its hard to place a fair amount of fault on Chessington. It is possible (but unl...

Re: Chessington Incident - 7.05.2012

Thoughts are with the family, and hope she makes a full recovery.

After looking through the Facebook posts, it seems as if a hole was on one of the bridges, of which the girl fell through.

Would be interesting to know what time it happened, and also how no one, including park guests, noticed it.

Re: Thorpe Park 2015 Coaster

I personally think the park is missing a quality family coaster. I know it isn't their target market, but it doesn't have to be presented as one. I was at the park last week when it was pretty quiet, after going on most things we got to the point where we didn't want another "launchy-loopy"...

Re: Thorpe Park 2013: Possible Ride Discussion

In terms of the vengeance hardware relocation, those that have been on it, what did they think?

And more importantly, what sort of throughput does it achieve?

^ Yes, the first was Takabisha in Fuji Q.

You can just about see it here Image

And I also find it hard to believe that this was taken at the Alton Towers warehouses, mainly because its un-painted..

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

Chessington "was" a major park though. Maybe you think that it gets a reasonable amount of investment, but for me it doesn't. I think either you under-estimate Chessington, or you are over-estimating what has gone in to the park. In the past 10 years we have had... - The biggest thrill rid...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

^ I just did a quick search and couldnt find it, sorry! ^^ Really? The zoo only was prior to 1987, so I didn't really count the changeover from zoo to theme park in to the changes over the past 25 years. Also, even looking at that map, the park still relies 100% on most of the rides there. Safari Sk...

Re: Chessington World Of Adventures: General Discussion

Just received my Merlin annual pass Magazine thing for the first time and there is quite a good section on Chessington over the years. Although it does say "The resort has changed beyond all recognition" which I think is at odds with what we think, that the park has stayed pretty much the ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Ahh sorry!  I see what you mean but they'll find a way, if it won't entice the public, i'm sure they'll just market another element. Also I've been thinking about the indoor section, and these constant rumblings of the inversion record. Maybe they could have a special track element within the b...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

It's a massive coaster with loads of inversions and various elements, with what looks like great theming. What is there not for them to get excited about? They will eat it up.

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm and General Discussion

The trains did look awesome with them on yesterday. They seem to have a sort of flashing "pattern" as well which will look cool. Although with the sunny weather yesterday, they didn't show up in the pictures.

Re: What is so bad about Nemesis Inferno?

Just wanted to add, I've always been someone who's thought of Inferno as distinctly average, but today, down to the heat or something, it was the fastest and most forceful I've ever seen. Made for a brilliant ride.

Re: Phantasialand: 2012

Just wanted to add my thoughts on the state of the middle of the park. I visited for the first in April, and whilst the section in the centre of the park didn't look great I still had one of the best days I've ever had at a park, and it's certainly one of, if not my favourite park. Although I unders...
