Alton Towers 40th Anniversary in 2020

So in 2010 we had some celebration for the 30th and the 80s concert on the front lawns..
Fast forward to 2020 and we hit the 40th anniversary, so what would people like to see for the special occasion in a couple of years?

Future Entertainment ideas for ATR

So with the introduction of some new & returning entertainment for 2018, ive drawn up some possible and in my view feasible ideas the park could build on in future... ⋅ Bring back a park mascot that everyone can relate to the park, Alton Bear, Henry Hound ⋅ build on the stre...

Future of Ice Age 4D

Okay so after Ice Age leaves, what would people like to see happen to the cinema/Theatre? Would people like to see a new IP take over the 4D cinema? or The 4D cinema is stripped out and it returns to a theatre (alton towers branded) or A stripped to a theatre with an IP Show or something totally dif...

Re: Alton Towers - General Discussion

This closed season has seen a lot of work happening, but its things people wont notice as much, its a shame really because people saying they haven't done much really grates me as they have worked really hard this year an i for one think they have done a good job this closed season, things i've noti...

Re: The Future of Sonic Spinball

As much as I love sonic I can see it coming to its final season soon for numerous reasons... Throughput - For a park the size of Towers it is abysmal and with a slight bit of rain it gets even worse which in Britain makes this happen often. Maintenance - It was only installed as a cheap 'filler' rid...

Re: The Runaway Mine Train

During the summer months as mentioned above RMT is still very popular and does use the full queue-line. However is could do with the queue-line theming been changed as some bits are actually in pieces, and possibly upgrade the electrics, and give the front a general tidy up but the ride will easily ...

Re: Make The Gardens A Future Attraction Once More?

The cost of a day used as an excuse for not to look into the history gets me. Some people who stay on the resort more than a day, or elderly guests and even general guests i have seen do go around the house & gardens. The thing is to guests these days they are just buildings, statues, or bare ro...

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

*VERY LONG POST WARNING* okay so ive been reading up on the Churnet Valley Masterplan, and Alton Towers is a BIG part of this and has a lot of plans for the future. It gives a very good idea of how the resort could be changing/expanding over the next years. Heres the zones for development, but if yo...

Possible idea for Charlie & the Chocolate Factory IP

(Ive just recently seen the new Charlie & Chocolate Factory Musical, It's Amazing and got me thinking...) Hi, I know people will really hate me for bringing this up, but with the new big budget musical in london, this would give Alton a BIG chance to re-do and bring back the Charlie IP. My idea ...

Re: Scarefest, Rides and Photosensitive Epilepsy

Hi, Well going from last year both the Sanctuary & TOTT both included heavy strobe mazes, so wouldn't be suitable. Carnival did have strobes in places but not as bad. My advice would be to check the H&S boards at the entrance to the mazes before entering as they may change what is included i...

Re: 2015-2019: Possible Developments?

hi, not posted in a while but was reading up about the development of the Churnet Valley and just came across this paragraph about alton towers... 2016 & 2019 seem to be poignant years and more accommodation... "Alton Towers Two new rides are planned for Alton Towers, one opening in 2016 an...

Re: London Dungeons move to County Hall

Just returned from 4 days in london, and having previously done blackpool & warwick dungeons earlier this year, i was sadly very unimpressed with london. The theming i can't fault, but from the entrance the staff weren't in character just chatting more to each other and not interacting. Then as ...

Re: New Park Entrance

Moving the main park entrance doesn't seem right, i can see where people are coming from in terms of moving it but i still see some points... - Corkscrew monument - what was the point in putting it at towers street if they have plans to remove this entrance? - Box office & Towers Trading - They ...

Re: 2014-2019: Possible Developments?

In my view 2014 will be another big regeneration year for the park. I feel the farm is a suitable enough size for a kids area, and could last a bit longer without any major work. The park has to focus on adventure land & Storybook Land. This i feel they have the perfect opportunity to create a g...

Favourite Alton Towers Season - The Merlin Years

So now we've had a fair few seasons of Merlin running the park, what has been peoples favourite season and why?? (i've not included 2013 as its only just started) For me it has to be 2010 as it was a big celebration for the park and the season was full of popular events. 2010 calendar included: - Th...

Future Of The SW Codename After Wardley?

So with Wardley now retiring, there is the one main legacy he leaves at the towers. THE SECRET WEAPONS, however do people think Towers should retire the SW codename with Wardley, or continue it as a legacy? I'm split in some ways, but if Alton bring in a new designer to take-over Wardley then maybe ...
