Re: Corkscrew: The End of an Era.

Alton Towers Resort wouldn’t be where it was today if it wasn’t for the now iconic Corkscrew which opened in 1980. As part of #AltonTowersTogether, and our own #AltonTowersMagic campaign, we wrote a guest blog for Alton Towers exploring how Corkscrew was the rollercoaster which put Alton Towers Reso...

Re: Chessington - General Discussion

Chessington have announced on their social media that their new land, the Rainforest, will officially open on March 19th.

With the MAP preview day being this weekend, could we be seeing a soft opening of the area?

It appears work is taking place on the entrance plaza in preparation for the new season. These photos show some sort of new unit being developed on the edge of the building where the cash machines were located. https://i.imgur.com/AZgZrFv.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Ml8fORa.jpg Source: TowersStreet

Re: Derren Brown's Ghost Train - Rise Of The Demon

So here's an interesting thought, with the potential spread of COVID-19, would you want to wear the VR headset? Whilst the headsets are wiped down after each use, I don't have much faith that there is adequate time to perform an extensive clean that would be required to prevent infectious disease s...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

Do you think we will see any changes this year? I know the majority or Dungeon attractions don’t tend to change their scenes for a few years and only really change when they add seasonal shows. I don't think we'll see any major changes to the Dungeon. Maybe the odd tweak to the script but that's ab...

Liseberg May 2020

Hai! So I'm finally heading out to Liseberg for a couple of days in May, a park that has been top of my "must-visit" list for a few years. Flights, accommodation and airport transfers are already booked, with park tickets to follow as soon as Liseberg make them available to buy on the webs...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I'm very interested to see what Towers do with an Oktoberfest event, in terms of what it will entail and where in the park it'll be located. Let's be honest, it's going to go one of two ways. It'll either be brilliant or terrible, there'll be no in-between. I have a feeling that it'll be brilliant, ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

Expectations of how busy the park is going to be on opening day (Saturday 21st)? Would like to visit but am coming from a long way! Opening day is traditionally quite busy, but nowhere near as busy as a peak summer day. Things to be aware of are ride breakdowns (I remember a couple of years ago we ...

ICYMI - Alton Towers have started the recruitment process for the 2020 season. With the process beginning earlier than normal, and with start dates for Rides and Food & Beverage staff being from 13th February, could this be an indication that we may see a return of the February Half Term event t...
