Apparently it was still stripped down during the John Lewis event. Why can't they get their rides ready on time?

A lack of resources in the tech services department?

Would also explain why the Rapids are still closed and Enterprise is still in pieces.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s still in winter strip-down.

Re: Wicker Man - General Discussion

So, has there been any new additions to the ride? Specifically the maintenance shed section.. just curious is all. Any confirmation that may be a yes or no would be appreciated :) In a word, no. There have been no modifications to the ride over the closed season. The maintenance shed is exactly the...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

I have to be honest and say that, on the whole, I was really impressed with the Dungeon. There was a good mix of humour and scares, and over the two runs that I had, I thought that the actor quality was very, very good. I believe that the success of a Dungeons attraction relies quite heavily on the ...

Re: Stealth

My weird Stealth train swap idea!!!!! On heritage railways they often borrow Engines for events or swap them just to let customers ride a different engine. What would the technicalities be of swapping 1 Stealth & 1 Rita train over so one of Stealth’s trains ran on Rita and a Rita train ran on S...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Hey everyone Am making the pilgrimage to Stoke with a disabled member of family. She has problems standing and has a blue badge. I'm not certain from the website what she needs to bring/upload to get access to the ride pass that allows her to not stand in the queue. Could anyone who's experienced t...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

Makes me wonder why they've been running a train with VR equipment boxes on still for then? Maybe they haven’t got round to fully removing the VR hardware from all of the crafts yet? I for one am glad to see the VR removed from the ride. Ever since its introduction, operations on the coaster have b...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - General Discussion

I’m not sure how I feel about the map this year. It looks much more cluttered than it already did, purely because they’ve added the accommodation options down the left hand side of the map, primarily to show off the Stargazing Pods. While I understand the need for them to advertise the Pods wherever...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Food and Beverage

The Donut Chicken Burger being located right next to The Smiler? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me :lol One thing that I don’t think has been mentioned anywhere yet is the addition of an ice cream bowl in the top left corner of the POS for Pizza & Pasta. I’m not sure if there’s ever been o...

Re: Alton Towers Stargazing Pods - Opening April 12th 2019

Now the area is almost finished in terms of turf being laid and finishes touches being added, this development looks slightly better than I originally thought it would. I still can’t see myself spending the night in one though, not unless, by some miracle, Pods for £20 a night suddenly become a thing.

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

Having watched the video and read the article, my opinion on the Dungeon has softened somewhat. I still don’t think it’s the attraction that Towers needs, but I am looking forward to going through it. As I’ve said previously, it’s not going to be an attraction I make a point of doing on every visit,...

Re: The Alton Towers Dungeon - New for 2019

The entrance feature certainly isn't what I was expecting, but I quite like it. Although, at the moment it looks a bit bare, so I hope they dress it up somewhat before the Dungeon opens. I'm sure any Charlie theming that hasn't yet been covered up/removed, will have disappeared by the time the park ...

Re: Alton Towers Resort Merchandise

I really am glad that they've released some new designs of Wicker Man merch for this season. My one gripe last year was that I wasn't overly impressed with the clothing side of merchandise for the attraction, so I'm happy we have a few new designs for this year. My favourite of the lot has to be the...

Re: Galactica - General Discussion

I can’t see them making the VR on Galactica an upcharge.

With the Dungeon already confirmed to be an upcharge attraction, there’s no way they would introduce a second one in the same season, especially not one that would create additional faff on a coaster with operations as poor as Galactica’s are.
