Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Today saw the second Club MTV event at Thorpe Park. Due to the ongoing closure of Stealth, the Club MTV stage was located next to Tidal Wave, and given the amount of people hanging around the area once the music got going, I’d imagine park management will be kicking themselves for not putting it the...

Re: Nemesis - General Discussion

I’ve seen on Instagram that it looks like they are planning something with Nemesis on National Rollercoaster Day. Anyone got any guesses what? The Facebook event they have created for it indicates whatever they do will finish at 8pm. The last time they did something for Nemesis I’m sure they had so...

Re: Cloud Cuckoo Land Replacement

This is long overdue. CCL has long been the “forgotten” area of the park so I’m glad it’s going to be getting some attention for 2020. As for what the area will be rethemed into, I don’t think the teaser on the construction fence gives us much to go off. Wasn’t there something about a David Walliams...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Food and Beverage

I have to back up what Lakey says with regards to F&B at the Resort. I had possibly the best visit I’ve ever had to Rollercoaster Restaurant over event weekend. Everything came in good time, everything was correct and it was all hot. The portion sizes and general quality of the food was much imp...

Are you allowed to film on Duel, been seeing a lot of people doing so and just wanted to make sure for my next visit.

If the operator sees anyone filming via the CCTV, they will tell you to put your phone/camera away over the tannoy.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I saw several news companies bring up the 2015 incident again, with some saying the crash happened at 90mph which is very impressive seeing as we don't have a coaster in the UK that reaches that speed! During the investigation after the incident, it was calculated that the force of the crash was eq...

Re: Funny Things You've Overheard at Parks

Overheard in the Swarm station: “Yes, we get to go at the back! It goes faster at the back!” This isn’t all that much of a funny thing to hear. It’s widely known that the back of a train experiences more of a pull and gives a completely different ride experience to the front. If you were to ride Wi...

https://i.imgur.com/6N5qf9g.jpg As reported on TowersTimes social media; Merlin Entertainments have announced the return of their partnership with Coca-Cola Great Britain which rewards guests who deposit their used 500ml plastic drinks bottles into a ‘reverse vending machine’ with a voucher to rece...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

Schools in England actually start their holidays on the 15th July, Wales the week after (22nd) according to here.   I believe it is just a minority of schools who have week beginning 15th July as the first week of their summer holiday. The most widely observed one will be the week beginning 22nd Ju...

Re: Alton Towers Resort - Quick Questions

With the free tickets from The Sun, can they be upgraded to a season pass or can that only be done with a purchased ticket? Also can premium season passes be bought on the day? Premium Season Passes can be bought on the day of your visit. As for The Sun free tickets, I don’t believe they are able t...

Is this right?

Not quite £5.9bn, but our article covering all the news surrounding this development can be found here.

Wicker Man has reopened today, with a hearty 70min queue.

According to people who are on park, it’s on one train operation.

I wonder if that could be a pointer as to why it’s been closed for the past week? :-k

Re: Thorpe Park Resort - General Discussion

Jungle Escape has now dropped in price by £3 across all tickets to be: £7 on the day; £6 pre-booked; and £5 for annual pass. Thorpe Park in “upcharge attraction not being as successful as we hoped so we’re having to drop the price” shocker. Along with the AT Dungeon struggling to attract visitors t...

So apart from the first drop being different to Colossus, is there any other differences?

As far as I’m aware, the only difference between Colossus and the newer versions of the layout, such as Altair, is the profiling of the first drop.

The planning application hasn’t had any documents uploaded to it yet, so at this time there isn’t anything that would point towards any potential theme.
