Re: Rudeness to staff

It's understandable that people might be rude to staff sometimes, but a lot of the time it's an issue that can't be resolved by let's say a ride assistant. Eg a power cut or a ride that has malfunctioned. I think guests need to realize that moaning at staff will only decrease their moral and overal...

Re: Going to Towers alone...

My wife is not a big theme park fan, so I usually end up going with a friend, however, last October I went by myself (4 and a half hour drive to get there) so I could spend the day taking photos, I made sure I did each ride a few times, but then spent most of the afternoon chilling and spending a bi...

Re: X Sector Refurbishment

I'm going to guess that is the first of a couple of coats? Hate to sound like the kill joy, but that doesn't quite look black. Still quite grey in fact :/ Either way it will look much better than before. Well done Alton Towers. From what I have read, Alton aren't painting Blivvy black, it is to be ...

Re: 2012 fireworks

I don't have a vast understanding of pyros, however, I am a bit of a geek and like to know a little about a lot... From what I understand falling shells and shells exploding in the racks are accidents, falling before exploding can be due to a damp shell, not launching high enough , thus falling to t...

Re: 2012 fireworks

I think you guys are missing the point of today's current climate...its not a free for all with money, and just look at London Displays for New Years Eve...they have all got smaller, but they are spectacular, they are not going to do anything else for extra money, when it already gets capacity 28,0...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Interesting I love these ideas of trick tracks!!! Just out of curiosity if the supposed trick track was the spinning inversions and looking at that vertical express lift imagine if the trick track spins you around as pure taken up then tilts you into the more than vertical drop. That would be immen...

Re: Litterbugs

Slightly different in a McDonalds though, as there are staff paid to clean the tables. You would'nt pay for a meal in a restaurant then take the plates and cutlery back to the kitchen once you'd finished. There's a big difference between buying a meal at a fast food restaurant without cleaning up a...

Re: Best cheapish digital camera?

Would be looking to either get a Panasonic DMCSZ1 which is on amazon for £109.99
Or if you really cannot stretch your budget, Panasonic DMCFS35 can be gotten just under £100....

Both great cameras, both fantastic cameras, both feature Leica lenses, amazing quality!

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Actually I thought The Swarm cost £18m, that's the figure I remember the marketing announcing. I know this still make the fact incorrect but as I was under the impression SW7 was costing £20m it would still be the biggest investment even if the facts have been muddled. Merlin is dreadful for muckin...

Re: Tuesday 09/10/12

Camera is a Canon 450D, photos were taken with a selection of lenses, most were actually taken with my Prime 50mm lens, however some of the others were taken with a 70mm-300mm TeleZoom Lens or the standard 18mm-55mm lens. I haven't finished processing the others yet, it took me all night just to do ...

Re: The Smiler - Speculation

Just wondering, how do we know it is a Gert? I mean, Maurer posted the video with the twisting track, and the lift looks similar to Rip Ride Rocket, so could it be a Maurer? Annoyingly, as much as I want it to be anything other than a Headache inducing Gerstlauer, I have a friend over at EAS at the...
