Re: World first Hyper for Hershey Park 2012

This completely redefines the term 'hyper coaster' for me. After the initial drop it stays quite low, instead of tonnes of airtime it seems to be riddled with forceful seat pinning corners.

I find it quite intriguing, be interesting to see how it rides. Guess I'll have to wait until 2013.

Re: UK's Best Water Ride?

See, I want to say Valhalla but for me I find the ride too wet to enjoy. Around half way round I start regretting my decision to board the boat (or swimming pool, as it's usually become by that point). This sounds like such a cop out (considering my fear of water, it probably is) but my favourite wo...

Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

I love the 'three different rides' concept. I agree, track and train it doesn't appear to be spectacular, but I think the effects make this a th13teen beater for me.

Re: The death of the (remaining) magic

I'm so glad that you've started this topic Russell. I've felt as though I've been nitpicking for the past season or so, so it's refreshing to see that so many of us agree. I'm afraid that this may sound a little 'it's not how it used to be' but meh, I'm past caring. The upkeep of the park seems at p...

Re: Why is the whole of X-Sector closed?

Some of the posts in this topic are quite upsetting to read. Although nobody knows the actual reasons for this gentleman ending up in the tunnel, it does seem plausible that he has some form of mental illness. Even if he did end up in the tunnel as some kind of dare, he clearly wasn't able to differ...

Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

Did anybody hear that? That was my sigh of relief.

I still believe that Intamin's freefall drop seems much better, but at least Verbolten's drop isn't looking as dire as Xplorer (which was my worry) so I'm happy. I can't wait to get on this now :D

Re: Movie Park Germany: major improvements for 2013/2014

Bandit was horrific but it does have a certain charm about it. As for the stunt show, I'm pleased that it's being changed. We tried to watch it a few weeks ago, we ended up walking out after 10 minutes. The stunts were brilliant but they only occured every 10/15 mins with lots of terrible acting inb...

Re: Busch Gardens Africa VS Busch Gardens Europe

I've never visited either. As amazing as Busch Gardens Africa looks, I'd have to go with Europe because of it's theming.

Re: BG Williamsburg 2012: "Verbolten" multi-launch Zierer

If the train vallied and it was being winched back to the launch, perhaps it wasn't secured to the track after valleying - If so it's possible that it came off the track and hit the winch truck. I, like Rob, can't see a plausible explanation for how the truck came to be hit, otherwise.  I don't...

Re: My Alton Towers Map

This is absolutely amazing. When I saw how many thanks your post had recieved I was expecting it to be good, but nowhere near as astonishing as it actually is.

Your attention to detail is meticulous, I wish I had just a quarter of your talent and skill. Well done!

Re: Mack Launched Coaster for SeaWorld California 2012?

I'm really impressed with this coaster! It's the perfect theme for a Mack launched coaster as the trains glide and swoop over the track, much like I imagine a Manta would do in the ocean.

Lookin' good SeaWorld San Diego  8)

Wow, it's amazing how a ride experience can change thanks to some well placed theming. It looks sooo much better now.

Ssssssh, you'll ruin the surprise. Although I think most people have already realised that the big red barn conceals many secrets. I heard that there's a Pretzel loop in there followed by an inverted turnaround.  :-#

Re: Marketing burnt on to your retinas

Towers marketing and upselling seems to be bordering upon unethical, in my opinion. Offers/promotions/marketing opportunities are forced to the point where people end up dissipating their money, not because they want to, but because they have been talked into it. If somebody wants to purchase a serv...

Re: Clothes people wear to walk round Alton Towers all day

I once saw a group of around 6 girls dressed in maxi dresses in oblivions station, they looked lovely, but they clearly hadn't thought about it. They all ended up having to get off the ride, without riding, as the seatbelt had no way of connecting in to the restraint buckle due to their long dresses...

Re: Europa-Park 2012: "Wodan" GCI Woodie + General Discussion

I'm guessing that if Wodan has slowed down, then it won't have been an intentional move by the park. Think about it, a slower coaster means a slower throughput, Roland wouldn't stand for that... surely? No, it must just be a trick of the eyes... it has to be...  right?

Re: Thorpe Park 2012: The Swarm

On my first ride of The Swarm (back, far outside, left) I exited feeling a little deflated, impressed with the theming yet I was left wanting more from the actual ride. On my second ride (Front, inside, right) I was impressed. I enjoyed the ride and had a little 'oh my God, I'm genuinely scared' mom...
