Re: Europa-Park 2012: Hotel Bell Rock

I think that is pretty typical of the New England Nautical Style - rooms of that design are sparse (look at the Newport Bay in DLP, Yacht Club at WDW, as well as real New England Hotels). So I still will prefer the awesomeness of the Colosseo or Santa Isabel, but I think this is a nice addition and ...

Re: Is THORPE PARK really that bad?

Well, to be fair, it only happened once Thorpe started only doing thrills and targetting that market. we used to have a wonderful time back in the days where the Go Karts, Model Village, Flying Fish, The Magic Mill, Indoor Coaster, Haunted House, Treasure Island et al were a part of the mix. also I ...

Re: Europa-Park 2012: Hotel Bell Rock

Lol, I have heard a lot of people critique the boats as beds, but I know my kids would love them!

Re: Europa-Park 2012: Hotel Bell Rock

I am really looking forward to this one, it is going to make the Newport Bay Club feel like a Travel Lodge I reckon. The Hotel Colloseo is one of my fav hotels in the world (though we love the Ling Bao at Phantasialand too), so it will be interesting to see what this one is like! I have a lot of fai...

Re: Is THORPE PARK really that bad?

I absolutely hate Thorpe Park. I like theme parks, not concrete and steel parks. Thorpe Park is ugly, full of aweful people, and there is nothing to do if you are not into thrills (sadly I am too big to fit on a number of the rides there). It is depressing, especially when I think of the great times...

Re: Legoland Windsor: Hotel 2012/2011 and other rides!

You're missing the point of the educational areas - they're not there to necessarily be 'popular' or bring in more guests, they're there to be used for the park's educational programs, which won't (I seriously hope) end any time soon. They are very popular with local schools etc. And with kids. My ...

Re: Legoland Windsor: Hotel 2012/2011 and other rides!

Hi guys, It has been a long time since I posted here, but I am really excited as we have booked a pirate room for the opening night. My family do not know, as it is a Christmas present. This year has had a lot of experiences - Splash Landings at Christmas 2010, our villa at DLP, Hotel Colloseo at Eu...

Re: Marvel Exhibit at Madame Tussauds

I can't say I am a big fan of MT's, but between the Spirit of London and MArvel 4D, it is not bad if you are an MAP holder and have some time to spare in London. But I was very impressed with the Marvel 4D attraction. Must be the comic book guy in me.

Re: Marvel Exhibit at Madame Tussauds

I had to wait until my story was published, but I thought you may be interesting in the article I wrote about the new Marvel 4D attraction at Madame Tussauds: [url=http://www.laughingplace.com/News-ID513230.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;]http://www.laughingplace.com/News-ID513230...

Re: Chessington Vampire

I really feel we got lucky on Wednesday then. My kids were finally tall enough to ride, and we waited 15 minutes. I was amazed given that it is the summer holidays. However we waited an hour for the stupid Tomb Blasters (man, I miss the Terror Tomb, it was much better). But ya, it seems the Merlin f...

They were spot on when I saw them.

MArvel story to come soon, awaiting a couple of other bits and bobs.

WE had a great time on Sunday at the Seal Sactuary in Hunstanton.

Re: Marvel Exhibit at Madame Tussauds and London Dungeons

Well Friday I went to the London Dungeons and Madame Tussauds and managed to get a good priority experience. I would never pay full price for either attraction though. The Dungeons, it was the first time I have been since 1987. Back then it was more like a proper Chamber of Horrors and only had one ...

So the Marvel exhibit is an upcharge attraction? Is it not included in general admission and with Merlin APs?

Bummer. One year in the early 90's, we opted to go there many times instead of Alton Towers and Drayton Manor.

Re: The American Adventure: Past, Present and Future

I really miss this park, and I would have loved to take my children there. It had the best raft ride and log flume in the UK. The runaway mine train was very good. And although it used to be a common style of attraction, I loved riding the Missile over and over again. And the stunt show was a good q...

Re: Marvel Exhibit at Madame Tussauds

Will do. MAdame Tussauds is ok usually, but the Marvel exhibit peaked my interest. Tomorrow I have a day off followed by my leaving do in London, so I am thinking I might take the kids to school, have breakfast with my wife, go into London and go to the Dungeons, then the Sealife (although I might s...

Marvel Exhibit at Madame Tussauds

Anyone seen it yet? I am thinking about checking it out on Friday. I was really impressed with the 3D film on the Eye and also with Clutch Powers at LEgoland this year, so I am looking forward to this one.

Re: The Fifth Dimension: General Discussion

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I used to adore this attraction and loved it. Then when Terror Tomb opened, I love that one too - it had many effects in the INdy ride in Disneyland California, but my APs allowed me to enjoy them, here. I also loved the Iron Maiden Tribute. Sadly Chessington an...
