Re: Olympics opening ceremony

We destroyed our country so that kids could text? That's what I got from it. Nice choreography & fireworks yada yada yada but man if that wasn't a load of nonsense! It just highlighted what a raw deal we've gotten...and we won't even have the NHS much longer! Was that in there though? Voldemort ...

Re: PortAventura 2012: "Shambhala" B&M Mega Coaster

You can get the train from Barcelona to PortAvenura. It has its own station that's about a 5 minute walk from the entrance.

Or you could fly direct to Salou. Then you're really close to the park.

Re: Facebook - The Constructed Self

This is interesting. I would go out on a limb and suggest that Facebook is an extension of the ego - the constructed self that we already have in order to protect us from the harshness of reality. There are things that you do not tell anyone, I am sure - I definitely do. The kind of things that you ...

Re: London Underground Disccusion

Oh, what?

That was from the movie Creep where a woman misses her last train and gets stuck in the Underground with that thing after her!

Crap movie, but an interesting concept.

Re: TTF Grand National Sweepstakes 2012

I was on "Becauseicouldntsee" and my mate was on "organised confusion".

Both fell at the same fence!

Bah, humbug!

I would comment that ones particularly insulting? No?

Only if it was to one person and it was true. Generally, that's a pretty apt description of a body. A wobbly meat sack.

Re: Etnaland 2013: "The Storm" Mack Coaster

It looks good. Mega-lite airtime, Mack seems to be a good choice (judging by the general consensus on here) and a nice inversion at the end. It's a nice compromise coaster for a water attraction based park that is stepping into the world of rollercoasters. You won't travel for miles for it but for w...

Re: Political Beliefs

Oh, and for the record. If you've never smoked you haven't made a "conscious decision" not to smoke. You've made a decision based on what you've heard which will all have been scientific fact. There are benefits to state of mind that can't be measured. It may not be the best decision but e...

Re: Political Beliefs

Most WILL still allow you to have your own way, most WILL remain non-smoking - but some won't [citation needed] The total ban came into effect on 1st July 2007. Wetherspoons decided to ban smoking in 2005 I don't like smoking tobacoo. But I do like smoking. I would like to find an alternative to to...

Re: Political Beliefs

All of this "I don't want to get lung cancer" is getting old. We inhale it directly into our lungs and don't get cancer straight away. The time period that it would take for you to get cancer from second hand smoke is reduced even more because it is so much less concentrated than the fresh...

Re: Political Beliefs

I agree with Ritadz. A pub or restaurant is not a public place; it belongs to the OWNER. The owner should be allowed to decide. It is their place, they should make the rules. Many places would remain non-smoking and that is absolutely fine. I will still go to a Wetherspoons and I will smoke outside....

Re: The End.

All of it make sense to me. I don't know you and haven't seen you post much as Tugboat but if you've been on meets and work for Merlin I'm guessing you're a senior member  in the extremely relaxed heirarchy here. The reason for leaving for a bit seems fine. It makes sense. The reason for the cl...

Re: Religious Beliefs

Peace of mind about what to expect from the future. What is that? Anything could happen! Do you think the people you hear about going through traumatic events ever thought it would really happen to them? People's lives are turned upside-down by events totally out of their control. Did the parents o...

Re: Religious Beliefs.

That's a good question Anthony, it gives me peace of mind and a nice healthy atmosphere in which to enjoy when I'm with other people of the same religion. And it gives me understanding of what life is for. Peace of mind about what? I get what nice is, most people are generally nice, but what is a '...

Re: Religious Beliefs.

My point is that a Deist god has no influence on life other than being the unmovable mover and so human life is inconsequential to 'it' and life remains as meaningless as it would be had you never mentioned a deity. Does the person who flicks the dominoes over matter if they don't watch or care what...

Re: The 'I Feel Down' Topic

Hey man, it takes stones to make something private into public knowledge; especially purely to help someone else out with their troubles. In other news, I got a sucky mark on my last essay. It's my own fault, I just hate research so much. The Israel/Palestine conflict I have realised is too big for ...

Re: Cadbury World Survey PLEASE HELP!

I used to pass Cadbury World everyday on the bus to school. We used to go in the playground outside as well when I was a kid. I've only been on the tour once for another kid's birthday party. I can't really remember it but Cadabra definitely existed then and I got a lot of free chocolate. I remember...
