Hellion - NoLimits 2

Hello everybody. I have started my own, first full blown attempt at a realistic coaster with custom made 3D objects. Hellion is inspired by three of my favourite coasters which are TH13TEEN, Maverick and The Smiler. A portal linked to the underworld has recently been discovered in the deep, dark woo...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

I have to say, having been at the park today, and with The Smiler being walk on for the majority of the day, I have come to the following conclusion about each trains roughness: Train 1: Smoothest Train 2: Smooth Train 3: Was not in service today Train 4: Rough but not rattly Train 5: Roughest and i...

Re: The Smiler DVD

There is a video of The Smiler DVD at the link below although please bear in mind I do not own this video, simply posting it. My thoughts, it's okay but by gosh does it show just how many jolts, however small or large, that The Smiler has. It's certainly a very interesting perspective seeing all tho...

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

Thanks for that ladyofthelake, it's much appreciated, however out of curiosity, how busy is Good Friday usually at the Towers. I've never been on a bank holiday before but I'm hopefully catching up with old school friends and the 18th April, Good Friday, is a day I'm looking at? Thanks in advance :)

Re: General Discussion 2014

I agree that while £10 for a single ride may be a tad much, I'm completely for price hikes on Fastracks. They're a premium product and should have a premium charge to go with them so as to not effect general guests experiences.

Re: The 'How busy will it be?' Topic

How busy do you think it will be during the week of 24th - 28th March considering it is National Science Week? Also, what about Wednesday 2nd April? Many Thanks

Re: Sub Terra Broke!

I too rode Sub Terra today and it was working as intended. However as I mentioned, the light situation is a common occurrence. :P

Re: Sub Terra Broke!

The lights not going off is quite common actually. It's happened to me a few times and occurred the first time I visited with friends who didn't know what happens. It ruined the experience for them and afterwards were just like "What was all that about". They found it hilarious when I told...

My latest NoLimits 2 creation. Loosely based off the Back Lot Stunt Coasters, Juvelen and TH13TEEN. :P

Re: Nolimits 2 Updates

I finally, after hours of trawling through coding, managed to make a custom scripted coaster to include a backwards reversing section. The ride is inspired by both Juvelen and Thirteen and a test POV can be seen below. Now to work out how to script scene objects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiQK...

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

But the objects that flew off were black in colour. Surely it couldn't have been these blue chain guide wheels. That's what is puzzling me. :s

The smiler currently showing as closed on ride times It has been closed since 1pm today for planned maintenance. It's actually been closed all day today with the bottom of the first dive loop supports covered with a tarpaulin and the only answers being 'It's closed to prepare it for Scarefest'. It'...

Here is a concept video for the inside queue line, could be cosidered a spoiler if you haven't been on the ride and don't want to know what is inside the queue building. So if you don't want to know, don't watch. Everyone else enjoy. http://vimeo.com/72500147 Also, does anyone know why the smiler w...

As in the little 10 second clip at the end of the video. This is the audio that plays at the 'Half Way Corrected' point when stopped in front of the vertical lift with the monitors.

Re: The Smiler - General Discussion

Also, from Alton Towers website, more 'planned maintenance'. Perhaps trying to iron out the kinks as much as possible for Scarefest.

The Smiler will be open between 10am and 1pm on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th October.
